I'm so excited about it, i've recently read through all the books again just to prepare!

Did you read them all continuously? If so, how long did it take to read them all? blink.gif

And in case anyone's wondering, the book is 672 pages. Or so I've heard. Isn't that less than The Order of the Phoenix? At least I won't strain my eyes as bad this time.
JohnnyBoyC

I heard on a short documentary about the books that it is meant to be 607 pages long, maybe the text size is different per edition?

I have to get this book soon sad.gif

I don't understand how kids can read a 600 page book! I can barely read a 100 page book without getting bored, but then again i'm more of a movie man than a book man.

I once tried to read "The Da Vinci Code" , i was up to page 30 and i go 'Screw this i'll just wait for the film!' grin2.gif They spend 10+ pages just describing the scenery to the museum, when in the movie i'll just be a 1-2min scene

movies never live up to the books. And kids will read something if it excites them/gets them thinking/scares the heck out of them. thumbsup.gif

Just finished it last night. It's amazing, for some reason parts don't seem like Rowling though. I can't wait for the next...

My Harry Potter knowledge is a bit rusty. Can someone remind me who Tonks is?

Tonks was an auror who got Harry away from Privet Drive in book 5. She was the witch who could change her appearence.
BurnSide
Half way through. Just as good as the old ones but i do have to say, it's really more of the same things. hmm.gif But the story is excelent. I'm taking it nice and slow. grin2.gif
Bizeebutt
man its wierd, I just realized its been over two years since I read the last book blink.gif there is a lot I've forgotten
star_child
I am oddly sad, all the excitement is over, and the shock of the ending is still around. I always feel like this after I finish one of the books! I have to read them all again. I wish I could forget them, just for the shock and pleasure of reading them for the first time again.
BurnSide
In my youth i got a present from my Mum for my birthday, and quickly opened it. I was delighted, but that quickly wore off and i was bored with the present. Suddenly, my mother pulled out another present, which was amazing since we were rpetty poor, and i was very excited.

I realised that the most exciting thing was the suprise itself, not the present. This tiny box sat in my bedroom for about a month before i opened it, so i could enjoy the suprise all the more. laugh.gif

After this book, there is only one left. And when i get it, i don't think i'll be able to read it. I don't want the excitement to end. no.gif
star_child
I totally understand. I love those books, but all good things must come to an end...

****** SPOILERS *******

OK, here are my thoughts, I finished the book a few days and have had time to gather thoughts on the subject.
-Snape is not really on Voldemort's side, the death of Dumbledore was necessary to keep up the belief that he is on Voldemort's side. When Dumbledore said 'Severus please", he was pleading with Snape to kill him. Harry will not be able to find all the Horcruxes himself, Snape will help him but will first have to prove to Harry why it was that Dumbledore trusted him so much. Snape is so not evil. He also killed Dumbledore so Draco would not have to.
-RAB at the moment to me seems to be Regulus Black, Sirius's brother.
-NOTE: While they were searching through Sirius's stuff and 12 Grimmauld place they found a locket they couldn't open. Could this be a horcrux? I think they threw it out so Kreacher might have it!?
-I think Draco has good in him and will soon be on the good side.
-I liked how Draco had a sensitive side in this book.
-We still do not know the colour of Lavender's hair.
-I hated the Harry/Ginny.
-Snape being the half-blood prince was completely unexpected.
That's all I can think of right now.

I agree with you Catrat. I only hope that Snape isnt evil. I was crying at the end. Ah. I may be in denial about Dumbledore still though. *crosses fingers* Please pull a Gandalf...please pull a Gandalf. *cough* I liked the book and all of the background info on Voldemort, but I didnt like the romance crap. It felt like reading fanfiction. Although, I do like the whole Remus and Tonks thing. =)

ahahaha. Not exactly zombies, but that was pretty damn awesome though. Scary man! I don't think i'd want my children seeing this movie to be honest, if i had children. It's definately intended for adults.

I very much doubt Harrys parents will become Inferi Johnny. They've been dead for 16 years. Even if they did come back as Inferi, they would just be two skeletons. tongue.gif

I disagree.

I think snape IS really on Voldemorts side and has been the entire time. Dumbledore himself said that he makes massive mistakes. I don't think for one second that Snapes cover is important enough for Dumbledore to die and i definately don't think Dumbledore had intended to die that night. Sure, he had considered the possibility, but did not expect the turn of events.
Poor Dumbledore. crying.gif

I think you're onto something with the Locket that was in Grimmauld Place, athough it might just be a coincidence, but RAB being Regulus Black, and the locket being at the Black house, well it most certainly fits.

I think that Harry will kill Malfoy or at least to battle with him.

And i thought the Harry and Ginny stuff along with Rom and Hermoine was excellent. It's exactly how it is in school, and that's the best part about Harry Potter. It's a perfect representation of school life and teenage attitudes, crossed with constant mortal peril and magic.

I so saw Snape being the half blood prince from miles away. Come on, who else is that good at potions? Actually i thought at first it might have been Slughorn.

They're teenagers in school. You honestly think it would be a believable storyline if the gang had all become 17 and still hadn't even had real girlfriends? It's realistic!

I agreed about Fleur but then... she's not that bad I guess.

Before I read the book, I spoke with my cousins. We all thought the Half-Blood Prince was Hagrid. I mean, come one, he's half wizard- half giant and didn't they say that his mom was a giant queen? whatever, then I heard all about the potions and I figured it was Snape.... rarr Snape. His death will be avenged. I have faith in Harry Potter to do the wizarding world justice...
