I really like this one called
Fantastic Planet (1973) which won a cannes film award.
[attachmentid=16568]
This was directed by Rene Laloux who helped direct
Light years (1988) or Gundahar which I want to see still and features the voice of Glenn Close.
Moebius made a cool anime called
Time Masters (1982)Starchaser: The Legend of Orin (1985) is good with light sabers in it.
I really like
Heavy Metal Magazine's Movies
version 1981 and
version 2000 are good and the magazine is where I first saw Moebius's art featured.
Moebius AKA
Jean Giraud is right now making
Thru the Moebius Strip (2005) which i am real excited about.
The animatrix is very much a heavy metal style of anime.
I really like anything
Hayao Miyazaki which include
Warriors of the Wind (1984) which is the first movie I was introduced to by him.
Howl's Moving Castle(2004) is his latest and is in theaters now in America.

Any Animatrix was amazing.
On sheer story and the way that you never knew what was gonna happen next.
And Finding Nemo was really really funny.
A big surprise for me.

I grew up loving the Disney classics,
but now that I'm older I think Miyazaki is possibly the greatest animator of all time.
