Hey guys,

I've been lurking here for a while, not sure what to post or what to add but I was just reading a topic which sparked my interest.

What are your favourite ghost books? Non-fictional ones (if you can call them that) at least.

The one I grew up with and still read to this day is The Worlds Greatest Ghosts (dont know the author, I recently lost the book sad.gif ). I know its a British book and if anyone else has read it, i'd like to know what you think.

Anyway, so if you guys have recommendations for books i'd love to know. Ones that go into depth, lots of information about the hauntings themselves not just a book about the history of the place/area... i've read too many of those and to be honest they just arent as fun.

My favorite author on this subject is Hans Holzer. I am not sure if he is still alive or not, if he is I think he would be in his late 80's. He has done most of his research in the 60's and has traveled the world doing his work, he was a professor, and he also hosted a television show about the unexplained for many years. He has written around 118 books, but the one that I would recomend first is simply titled Ghosts. It is quite a large book, over 750 pages, but it address most every things you want to know. Hope that helps.

I have a lot of different authors and titles I am very fond of, I do like Peter Underwood's books, he is the president of The Ghost Club in the UK and has published many books on the paranormal. I also liked Harry Prices books too, very interesting if you get a chance to get a copy. 'This House Is Haunted' by Guy Lyon Playfair is also a great read (although becoming harder to find) and details the events around one of the most famous poltergeist cases in England. I have to say, for nostalgic purposes tho, that one of my faves has to be the 'Usbourne Book Of Ghosts'. It was a kids book on the subject, a big, hardback A4 size book I had from when I was in infants school. There was a companion book to it called 'Mysterious Creatures' which covered the likes of Bigfoot, Nessie etc, and then a 3rd in the series about UFOs, I had all 3 and would read them over and over again. As you can probably guess I have been interested in this stuff forever! laugh.gif

My favorite ghost author is Patty A. Wilson She did several great books on my home state of Pennsylvania. I have yet to meet her but have met a few people that have and they have nothing but good things to say about her.

Check out the books!
