Our minds are snapshots of the world. Each and every individual mind holds
a world within it. For every individual the perception of world is different.

Sounds like someone is obsessing over a fictional movie; Aka the Matrix.
Zaus
The matrix(acting sucked, too much emphasis on special effects, awesome concept) made a good point, which is we dont know what reality really is. It could be a simulation for all we know. Interesting as this is, whether you believe it or not, you have to realise there is nothing you can do about it.

'Our minds are snapshots of the world.' If that is so, why do we use cameras?

'Each and every individual mind holds a world within it.' If I knew what the futures market was going to do, I would believe you. And, unfortunately, I hold too few oil wells in my mind's world...

'For every individual the perception of world is different.' I would hope so. No two eyeballs can occupy the same space at the same time.

That said, I read the begining and end of your didactic. You actually have something going in your favor, until the end. Then you just toss it all down the...

I mean, you are masquerading as an acknowldeger of the spiritual realm,
only to say the jig is up when we die. You are a materialist, and possibly a nihilist.
So, why don't you start over, stick with the Kodak analogies, and leave the
eternal questions for another time.

The yoga you are talking about is called Raja Yoga. It deals with the link of our body and physical mind i.e. brain.

Mental Peace - This you get by following some breathing exercises, which helps your thinking to deviate from your usual hussle and bussle of your thinking about life. Stop your thoughts and you will be at complete mental peace. original.gif

Although this is just a part of the entire concept of mindspace.

agyat_theunknown
Our minds so much obssessed to relate something with other that it
is very difficult to think about something afresh.

Suggestion: Reboot your mind before thinking about the concept of body, mind and spirit.

Without mind you cannot store information about the world and hence, there will
be no world for you.

lalala I found my essay... just wanted to show off mellow.gif

Yep - a very interesting topic (to some), but for me raises a lot of questions.

Our minds can't contain the whole world - there's only 5 ways to get information in via the 5 senses and everything we experience has to come through those, at a rate limited by our ability to perceive. For example, you can only listen to a limited number of words per minute and comprehend part of the content.

Most of us perceive the world in the same way (for the most part) - I mean, we agree on what things look like, that objects persist, gravity pulls things down, etc.

There really is no way to confirm the existence of the world/reality other than communicating with someone else who shares your viewpoint. By definition, your views of the world are close enough that you can communicate in that case.

If the world exists only in our minds - how can we learn anything if there is no reality external to our minds? If there is no way for us to learn anything new - in fact, all we would be doing is regurgitating our own thoughts back into our minds.

Does any of this make sense?

Please visit http://www.geocities.com/agyat_theunknown to get the context of the statement. Otherwise, confusion such as these will arise. After all, mind is always boiling, producing thoughts as bubbles and it is very difficult to predict there direction. wink2.gif

I am not saying world exists only in the minds.

You know the world via your mind and your mind has built the picture of the world via five senses by which it is connect to the material world. To generate thoughts you need have something in your mind to start with.

Hope, this will help. thumbsup.gif
