I used to live in haiti a country famously associated with voodoo, and you know what I think it's nothing? Except for the zombies, they are real! anyway I think its just a bunch of people gathering herbs to make mind altering drugs, along with drum music hypnotizing people into believing things.
One thing about voodoo is you have to believe in it, i remember I was in a room with a bunch of people and the voodoo magician or doctor whatever said he could take of his head and place it on a table. He made a movement that simulated taking off his head and putting it on the table. I just laughed and before I could tell him he was a crazy liar almost everybody in the room was screaming OMG demon, its a miracle, etc.
Then he made a motion simulating putting his head back on. I left that room tired and confused
