I know it's a stupid idea, and probably impossible, and that if I had an xbox maybe and blah blah blah... but do we have any electirical engeniers that would be will ing to make me a circuit board and write me software blink.gif It's worth a shot hmm.gif

Hello, as you see im a noob here, but I can tell you ditch the xbox and gamecube and go with your pc if you want some serious gameing. Your right, you need a butt kicking vid card for starters, Im running the FX 5900, same specs as the 6600 by nvidia. Need a good processor, not celeron! At least a 2 gig. At least 1 gig of good ram, not generic...I reccomend Corsair. A fast HD, Serial if your mobo supports it, if not then a good name brand HD like maxtor or western digital and 7200 rpm, not 5400. Do not buy seagate, that garbage will make noise and your computer will move slower than frozen poop. With all that you should kick some major @$$!! Run 100 FPS easy!.

You can always install mod chips if you good at doing it, The x-box is the easiest to mod, since it already is just as good as a functioning PC, and the hardest in my opinion is the PS2 and N64

check out the links

Mod Chips Note this is one of the many chips you can find out their shop around and be careful, I heard some chips actually do nothing or just mess the system up.

I used to know a great forum for modifying game systems, can't remember the site but do a internet search you should find some communities

I know about PCs and all that, my dad majored in computer science and started a computer buisness AND an ISP too bad he had to sell the isp though... it still amazes me though, think about it. An Isp... wonderful original.gif

But like, I'm trying to find ways to use the gc since I'm only 14, and don't have a job yet, so I can't afford highend hardware, yet. Once I get a job though, I'm going to eithier save up for a highend laptop or get a barebones system from new egg and and some memory and a graphics card, and just steal our old hard drive (120 gigs)... But yeah, my dad was in the comp buisness so long we have these humongus antiqe hardrives they use to actchually use that are like 256 mega bytes... lol. But for now, I want to find away to cheaply may my gc do something instead of sitting in the cabinent since gc has crappy games, and 30 bucks for each new game is ridiculous, you can get pretty good games that will last a lot longer and a lot funner like GUILD WARS for only 20 more bucks...

but one of our comps can't run it. I just realized I said this in the first post, ahh well.
but frm what i've read, gamecube supposedly had the best graphics out of their generation...

these days they don't make games or servers dial up friendly, maybe if you turn off applications that use the internet you don't need to use, check for spyware and adware if any get them removed, they can easiley slowdown your internet connection. I guess thats all I can say. Either that or go high speed internet.

dial up is not good, I suggest finding a small isp, they would probably have the best deals and would be the nicest, get dsl, and if you can afford it, cable

Hello, go here...www.dslreports.com

and look under tools, for dr tcp..this little program will tell you what to set your settings at, it tweaks your registry. Even if you are on dial up modem you will run faster, download faster...it does help! Works great on dsl and cable. Just download it and run it, it will tell you what to do. thumbsup.gif

I looooove my DSL! *Hugs little phoneline dealy*

I had dial-up for so long, and just got DSL a few moths ago. It's heaven on Earth.

I also have my internet hooked up to two computers right next to eachother. This one is for surfing, one of the two games I play, and storage/work. The other is my music and another one of the games. Works pretty well.

wus the best deal there is for dsl, original.gif

saladin please use the websites to look for good deals in your area, this is zudos thread about helping him with computers, not your thread about getting internet.

Anyway zudo, it is next to impossible to get a Game to speak to a PC, they are 100% different technology and basically have nothing in common. If you want a chance to do that, get an Xbox. The graphics are better on the Xbox anyway, it has more processing power and higher specs.

Maybe you could post the specs of your computer so we know what system you have? A good computer will always be better than a console in my opinioon, but then I love PC's hehe. Simply upgrading your graphics care can give you a huge boost, as can making sure you have 1GB of memory. Using Ebay you can get a used ATI 9800PRO for way less than $100 http://cgi.ebay.com/HERCULES-RADEON-9800-P...1QQcmdZViewItem or even better an Nvidia 6600GT http://cgi.ebay.com/XFX-6600-GT-AGP-video-...1QQcmdZViewItem

If you have a 512MB stick of RAM, then get another to go 1GB, this is the ideal amount to play games with no slowdown. For $100-$150 you could give yourself a MAJOR boost in games. original.gif
