I have a few questions regarding hauntings. From the little research I have done, to have a haunting all you need is someone who has died that still wants to be here, or is inable to leave here. I have also noticed that people who die in a dramatic or horrible way seems to stick around more often... Murder victims, suicides. I have heard many American Civil War battle fields have hauntings, but I have never seen a group go to investigate. Here are my questions...

At places such as concentration camps, WWII battlefields, and the sites of natural disasters shouldn't there be many, many hauntings?

Why do no teams go and investigate these places?

If you have any insight or your own theories on this topic please explain.

Well lots of teams and groups do investigations at those kinds of places. If you search the web you will find many groups but there are even more groups that do not have a webpage or care to publish thier findings of these locations on the web.

Any place with history behind it has a ghost story.

Hell, my dorms in college were built in the 70's, and they already have at least three. That's because so many different people have lived in them.

Name a Civil War battle ground. Go to the nearest town and start asking about local legends and ghost stories. I'll bet there's one for every place. If not many.

England has numerous Mass hauntings due to the million different battles on our soil, a little research and you will find numerous sites...........e.g Battle of bosworth, stanford bridge.........as well as numerous british civil war sites.

This is not including the 100's of ancient castles which have mass hauntings.

hi about:blank,
a few years ago a reporter went to gettysburg to interview the director of the battlefield {this was not a story about ghosts}as he pulled in he noticed a platoon of confederate soldiers marching across the field.after doing the interview,he asked the director if they were having a battle re-enactment that day since he saw the soldiers dressed up in confederate uniforms.the director said no one had been on the field that day.so i guess he saw an imprint of part of the actual battle.as far as investigating these sites, they are like every place else.if the spirits don't want to be seen, you won't pick up any activity.many times you see things when you least expect it.thanks

About:Blank,
I think that what you think is very true. Because you hear from a lot of people who say that a woman or man died in a house, and died. But my aunt lived in a house with a ghost who had been a sex offender and killed himself in the house. Whenever she took a bath the door nob would shake, and the door would open. She could always feel him standing there watching her.
