It seems i've had many brushes with paranormal happenings throughout my lifetime. I've always taken my experiences in stride and chalked them up to just being a 'different' type person that weird things seem to happen to (others would refer to me as nuts or schizoid i'm sure).
There are too many to list and the details of each are sometimes too involved to all go into.
I can still recall my first experience as though it happened yesterday, and i was only 4 years old or so at the time.
I have just recently become especially interested in finding out why certain things happen to certain people since after a few months of hearing this really odd sound (later described by a friend of mine as a taos hum i believe) and then waking up compeletely deaf. After several specialists, doctors and tests they've not been able to diagnose any sort of medical reason for this happening.
I've done a little reading about the mind being able to cause things to happen to the physical but when i think of all the ultranormal things that have happened to me in life and this appears to be another one of them, but this time it's left a mark on my physical being, so time to search for answers and maybe a solution.
Any suggestions or direction would certainly be appreciated.

I say that everything happens for a reason and the reason is personal, it is something which you must experience for whatever reason. I can be hard to read, not meaning to confuse you w00t.gif Welcome to UM, enjoy your stay wub.gif

Oddly enough, I lived in Taos for over a year and never heard the famous "Hum"..Still; hearing is a funny thing. There have been many cases where people have somehow gone completely deaf for no discernable reason. Sometimes it's even mysteriously come back for the same, or after an accident or a knock on the head..Just because a Doctor can'y classify doesn't necessarily make it paranormal. The description you gave about hearing the hum first still definitely points to it being some sort of physical problem..

Sounds like tinnitus or an ear-infection. original.gif

Did anyone else you know hear it? Or was it just yourself?
Have there been any other instances of hearing it?

From a metaphysical point of view - perhaps you need to improve your other senses!

This may be your own spirits way of saying you have listened long enough - start to talk, touch, feel, smell and see things better!

If the medical tests you had so far concentrated on your ears then that may be the problem. I would advise a CT scan or even magnetic tomography.

I also have been "followed" ,if you will, by unnatural occurences. All my life I have had one thing or another and a lot of it is auditory. I have never been able to explain why I experience so many things that others do not, so if you come up with something I would love to hear it.

As have I, it could be possible we are all just cursed lol, or a gift whichever you choose to belive, reguardless it happens and you must learn to live with it

Thanks for all the feedback people original.gif

I've had about every test there is known, CT scans, MRI's, been tested for everything from infections, scarlet fever, MS, TB, cancer, leukemia and brain dysfunctions and neurological disorders.
But, just because doctors can't figure it out, that does not rule out medical reasons, it's difficult for doctors to say "I don't know", so they will usually say it's depression and hand you prescriptions for anti-depressants. Being in and out of the waiting room so often, i've encountered too many vicitims of this sort of malpractice (for lack of a better term).
For now I just deal a day at a time and remind myself of all the other things i can be thankful for.
As far as the paranormal side....well, between the good and bad 'visits', the objects that move themselves, astral projection and other "oddities" i've encountered....there's a link somewhere and i'll keep looking for ways to unlock it's mysteries....let's just hope it doesn't conjur up something too devious to handle heh.

Well hows about recalling some of your experiences ?
Writing them down for others may give you some ideas on what to do or where to look next. Also how can we help if we dont know the kin of stuff thats happeing to you ?

I know just how you feel, I have been through all of that too. I have actually had doctors get so frusterated with not being able to find a cause for my symptoms that they looked at me and said I was making it all up. It can be very frustrating, you just have to learn to deal the best you can. I lost hearing in one ear once, I lost it for about 2 months, but then it came back, so keep hope.

Ok, you asked for it hehe.

Here's a short list of some of the things i've encountered, would take up too much space to go into detail, direct email would be easier i guess, but hey, can't have everything right?

- Picking up the phone to call my sister in Italy and she was already on the other end talking. I never did dial.

- Family members freaked when I saw an apparition outside of a bedroom window that they couldn't see...As the spirit reached for me i tried to reach back and put my hand thru the window.

- Spontaneously projected thoughts or out of body to visit my beloved gradmother 500 miles away, I thought I was daydreaming....so did she.

- Family reunion, we all witness what looked like really big red eyes in the trees, but were too big or tall to be anything human. They retreated when we tried to get nearer.

- Friends and I witness 3 glowing red spheres sitting in the sky and then jetting toward us and out of sight.

- A "thing" in a cape i saw walking along a road then 2 miles ahead, jumped on my car at a stop sign. I gunned it then slammed on the brakes and it went flying but disappeared before it hit the ground.

- Having to leave during a college lecture because of excruceating stomach and abdominal pain. It subsided before the ambulance arrived, but they took me in anyway and I discovered my sister was in the same hospital and had just given birth.

- Taking pictures at an old plantation. Took a break, there was an old outhouse and it's door flew open, nothing there....it flew open again and hazy shapes of a bride and groom stood inside...it flew open the third time and they were gone.

- Driving and a blizzard hit, ended up in a ditch....A man in a priest clothing stopped in a Blazer and had had some sort of cable wench in the back, hooked me up and got me out of the ditch. We departed, going in opposite directions again. About 50 miles ahead, i hit the ditch again....the same 'priest' pulled me out

- Telling a friend of some of my experiences....were sitting in his parent's station wagon....the rear view mirror not only fell off, but it flew all the way to the back of the wagon.

- After a strange fax machine like screeching and odd static sounds, woke up completely deaf.

- We discovered an old ouija board in my grandmother's attic while cleaning. She made us throw it out. Went back and it was sitting exactly where it had been the day before. That happened 4 times until we finally burned the thing.

- Thought I was dreaming when my grandmother (who lived hundreds of miles away) sat on the side of my bed and said she'd come to say goodbye. I told my mom about it the next morning and only seconds after i told her the phone rang and we were told that my grandmother died during the night.

These are just a few things off the top of my head other than objects being moved to different places in the house without anyone being there who could have done it.
