Witches obviously exist. So do Christians, Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims. But asking if the magic they claim to possess is real, that is a whole different thing. We see people of different religions every day, so we know they exist. What we don't know is if the gods they worship exist or not. Its the same with witches and magic.

Yes we do worship gods differently than you do. And to us they exist but no ordinary human will fortell it. But we use our magic to help people and not to harm you so u don't have anything to worry about

It's okay. Most people don't believe in the magic we use is real and I myself will say it won't happen overnight. It takes time and you will not see it at first but it is there.

I have known for years I am a Witch I brought it with me from another lifetime and will continue to believe in the power of good and love for that is where the Magic is. Yes, witches exist. In fact, a great many members of this forum are practicing witches...I go to university with a witch. Wiccan is a fairly well established religion these days...some kind of neo-paganism I believe.

A better question probably would have been if they can cast spells, turn into cats, and fly around on broomsticks, the answer to which is probably no. While the professed witches on this site do often claim to have magical abilities I...remain somewhat doubtful of that. I consider that particular part of the religion in much the same light as I hold those who claim to have "psi".

your right on the most part, but witches do not, and have never believed that they can physically turn into animals, they do and did believe however that they can travel around the countryside, and fly through the sky, by using types of astral travel by means of meditation and sometimes hallucinogenic drugs, where there spirit will enter the body of an animal, and they will be able to travel unseen around there local countryside. Most of them used it in order to travel, so that they where not seen and burnt at the stake, which is why animals where burnt as witches sometimes to because they believed the witches would be the witches cat or pet raven ect. Some also did it to spy on other witches that they might think would be plotting against them, or to just simply understand that animals knowledge better, so they could use it in there future spell work.

Funny when you say the word witch, People believe you are evil, fly on a broom and cast spells for satan. Not so some of us were born this way, Its part of our spirit, I personal believe in rebirth, and how no problem with the fact this is something i did not ask for, But something i will have in each life i live.

Faeden, I see no more reason to take that at face value, than I would a chapter from Harry Potter. The fact that a myth exists does not mean it is based on fact...people shot gorrillas because local myth told that they could kidnap and rape women. Was it true? Certainly not.

The unfortunate problem is that people are quite capable of convincing themselves of virtually anything. Until some kind of educated study was carried out on a large number of "witches" in order to establish whether or not their magic...or do they call it Magik now?...existed or not, I will continue to believe it is a fairy tale. In the same way I do not believe people can speak in tongues or read minds, I do not think they can cast spells.

I say again, I'm well aware that witches exist. I know witches on this site, and I know witches in reality. People who practice Wiccan are as real as those who practice Christianity, Islam, Satanism, Druidism, Agnostisism, or any other set of beliefs.

And there would be my point in its entirety. If you believe in something strongly enough you're obviously going to attribute it to a certain event...that doesn't mean it either exists, or had anything to do with whatever result you were aiming for.

It's rather like video game violence...like magic, it's a myth, that a few people believe in. However, if you were to compair the number of video games in circulation (or in this case, the number of Wiccans trying to cast spells) to the number of people who are actually moved to violence by any outside influence (or in this case, see "results" from their spells), it becomes fairly obvious that no such link between video games and violence exists.

Darkwitch, I feel it would be quite helpful for you, if you went and read some of the previous threads on this topic, I do not mean to sound disrespectful, but it is obvious by your posts that you are incredibly new to Witchcraft and it's many derivatives, and could benefit from a little more study. I wouldn't want you to end up offending some of the witches who do exist at U.M. by making their hard studied religion look silly there are enough people allready doing that

No offence but you keep going on about how bad a rep witches have got yet you seem to be doing its rep a whole lot of damage with your strange attack on anyone that doesn’t believe in it, no one has to believe in anything dark witch. You even seemed to have a pop at me and I did not say I believed in it either way, for the record I do believe witchcraft works but not to the extent that some might believe.

Going on my observation of your posts you have much to learn about the craft being confrontational just because someone doesn’t believe in what you do is rule number one on how not to be a witch.

I do not want to sound mean, but you could do with some advice on this subject, if its going to work for you.
