I need to raise $30 in a day (or two...), so that I can afford my $65 Willy Wonka coat. I need to raise the money before it sells out and I'm afraid I don't have much time. We're having a yard sale on Saturday, but I don't think it's going to be very successful. I'd do chores for my mom, but I already do chores for $5 every Friday. And she said she'd buy me the jacket, but she can barely afford school supplies. So she said she'd pay for half of it. Do any of you awesome people know any ways to get $30 in a day so I can stick it in my 'Wonka Fund' Bank?

How about offering to mow the lawns of your neighbors for some money. Walk the neighbor's dogs for a few dollars. That's all I can come up with this late at night. Good luck. By the way, I love your siggy

If you have a nursery by you (for plants) ask the owners if you can work to pick weeds for a couple days... I did it more then once. In 3 days of weed picking for 6 hours a young kid can haul in roughly 80 to 100 bucks around here.

Mow lawns. 5 to 10 bucks a lawn can really add up if you have a couple lawns to mow.

Yardwork again it can all really add up and be nice... you tend to get paid less if you are rude.

Good Luck!

Willy Wonka coat, what a crazy purchase.
$30 isn't that hard to get if you have determination. Ask your mother's friends if they need any work done, such as yardwork, housework, anything. Most people are keen to have their house and yard cleaned for a small price.
Or you could wear a bunch of tattered clothes and dance in the street corner, holding out a hat for money.
BTW, nice avatar Lady Valkyrie. I see there is another myth buff on these forums.

Why don't you take out a loan from the bank?

...She is 14... not to many banks are going to give a loan to a 14 year old for 30 bucks...
Maybe if you had a co-signer

Her chances are slim to nothing though...

You sound really sweet. I wish you luck. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything else that hasn't been suggested already, except maybe washing and detailing cars for people you know and your parents' friends.
Let us know if you get your coat!!
Tia

My son went around with a friend and washed a few cars and cleared a few paths and they made over $30 in just over 2hrs.
As a mum speaking, be careful when going to other peoples places and try to take a friend with you if you can. Always be polite it'll get you further.

Tia is correct, you will have to team up with a friend and eanr the money the old fashioned way, cleaninig cars or offering to do some chores for the neighbours.
Always have a friend with you and don't be entering anyone's house even with a friend.

Ok, here's my suggestion. All you need is:
Balaclava
Baseball bat
Getaway vehicle
I think you know where I'm getting at. That's right. Become the mystery batter for the Sox. They should pay you well for that

Seriously, just work for the cash. Do chores, lawns, cars, everything that's already been discussed.
Good luck
All the best,

Why is it sick? Johnny Depp is NOT sick in any way lol! He is playing a character and does a wonderful job. Yeah, it different than the first Willy Wonka and I think no one can take the place of the first one but it really was quite good. I think. Anyway, let us know if ya got the coat. I think its great you have so much motivation to get it

it would be a nice collection to my pimp coats. My idea to raise money do something creative like beg for change on the street. Or sing and dance or play somethig while having a can out. Or Work for the money.

I got the money! The easy way.

I told my Aunt Oralia about my money issue when she got back from New York. She came to visit me and gave me $40 for watching her cat, Hobbes, when she was gone. I called Hot Topic and they gave me all the info for the money order and I'm sending it out tomorrow. Ah, and the reason why Wonka is making that freaky face is because the kids were introducing themselves against his will. Veruce jumps in front of him (that's the reason) and she says "I'm Veruca Salt, It's very nice to meet you, sir." and Wonka's reply is "I always thought a Veruca was a type of wart you got on the bottom of your foot. Heh!"
Trailer of the SceneOh, and even though I'm highly obsessed with the Depp Wonka, the only true willy Wonka is Gene Wilder.
