post your thoughts as well. What do you think happened that night...? blink.gif

hmmm they must be ufos cuz the air force said they were dropping down lights but i watch the video the lights ain't moving if the air force jets drop the lights it will be going down, moving and i think the lights will be fading wink2.gif
TheEssenceofExcellence
they were obviously alien in origin (if you can only pick from the 3 choices in the poll) The govt. tried to say they were flares being shot off... But flares don't hover in the air like that. Flares go up, pop, flash, and fall down from the sky. They don't just sit in the air for minutes upon minutes.
MichaelS
Being in the army myself, I've launched several flares into the air.

I've seen the video, and though I don't necessarily believe they're ET in nature, they are certainly NOT flares.

They stayed in formation too long. Wind currents would've moved them in differant directions, and they would've fallen at differant rates as their weights would've been differant regardless of how precisely they're made.

Also, since flares are made with an incindiary material (usually phosphorous), they would've flickered and eventually fade as they burn out. The lights were steady, and remained at the same level of luminosity far longer than most phosphorous flares would.

But once again... this is not evidence that the Phoenix Lights were of ET nature...

I will go for door number four, made by the people shooting the video to fool others.

* closes door number four and burns it down* I thought the phoenix lights were seen by many other people....not just the camera man?also the military knew of the situation and IF, key word IF it was some sort of practical hoax wouldnt the military have found out and notified the public? Also that flare thing is total bullshit even if it was flares that had those mini parachutes it still would slowly fall to the earth. rolleyes.gif

Im gonna have to say its either ET in nature like others have said or man made.
MichaelS
If it was a hoax, yes.

All I said was that I didn't think it was ET in origina. It could've been a fly over of an experimental craft, it could've been a covert Domestic Operation.

People are often too quick to jump to "It's an ET," or "It's just flares" too quickly without thinking logically.
AlienChild
Can phoenix lights be anything else than alien made forces? Okey, it could be human forces, but it's made of UFO technology, can't be anything else... or...
MichaelS
There are always possibilities.

We should never blind ourselves by accepting only one side of the story as truth and gospel.

The biggest UFO sighting in the history has left defence chiefs baffled - and thousands of witnesses are now convinced we are NOT alone. A giant V-shaped object with red and white lights cruised silently for 200 miles over Arizona. The slow moving UFO the size of three football pitches, was visible for nearly two hours. It was first spotted by a retired cop - and soon police were flooded with reports.

Pilots and air traffic controllers were among the witnesses. Dozens of people shot video footage as the UFO passed low over Phoenix at around 8:15pm on March 13. And despite three months of computer analysis, no one yet has come up with any explanation.

Trucker Bill Griener, 51, watched three fighters scramble to intercept the mystery craft. He said: "It shot straight up and disappeared. I've seen something that don't belong here."

I can't understand why it took over 2 hours to scramble three fighter jets?
girty1600
does anyone have a link to the video?
XSAS

Girty, I think there is a video on this site: http://www.finart.be/UfocomHq/usmiller04.htm
MichaelS
I think I remember seeing the story and some of the footage on Unsolved Mysteries once.

I've got the DVD with the episode in my "library", but that's back in Kamloops, BC.sad.gif

Girty- That re-sized version of the re-sized sig I made you is STILL too big? WTF? blink.gif

Way to be open-minded, my friend. "I will completely and utterly refuse to accept the notion that it is a hoax...hence the 'burns down door four' line". I applaud you on possessing notihing that could be misconstrued as making this forum great.

Stewey...maybe if you make her a sig that says "I hate the Steel Circle" it will fit thumbsup.gif

Throughout March of 1997, probably thousands of persons were outside, between southern Nevada and Phoenix, AZ. They were after the sight of a lifetime, the Hale-Bopp comet. Up in starry sky, there was a conjunction of Mars, Earth, Mercury, and Venus, at least they appear very close on orbit, and aligned on a chart.

Some people described a boomerang shaped object, of some very large dimensions, moving quickly through Nevada territory, then slowing down over Phoenix. It was not the first time people had seen or filmed lights in that vicinity, during 1997, and would not be the last.

The government, the rich, the church leaders, and many who probably never saw them, rejected the idea of unconventional 'ships in the sky', via a news conference.

For the first time, I have looked more closely at the ancillary circumstances
connected to this one event, namely the planetary conjucntions, the comet, and solar eclipse near that date. While they seem auspicious, there was more UFO
activity reported that year, in Arizona. Of course, not as audacious as the Phoenix Lights.

Try as I may, I do not find any direct connection between Phoenix and the
astronomical events I mention. I have traced out various latitude and longitude plots, and frankly, the only things I notice about that location are the usual suspects- time, population numbers, and a long mountain range from northwestern Canada, to Tierra del Fuego. All along that corridor, it seems to present numerous reports.

That said, one final note. The solar eclipse was unusual. It was part of the Saros Series, number 120. That series of eclipses began 1265 years ago, and each one casts a larger central shadow, or umbra. The next one is in 2015. It was only seen over a frigid area of northern China, and eastern Siberia. Most cameras and telescopes froze up, unfortunately. But, I found a few images.

And, I know this was posted previously, but-

Pardon my french, but what the heck is "UFO-technology"?
AlienChild
c'mon! never heard about UFO-technology? UFOs are built of UFO-technology, top modern technology, somebody told me that there are humans on this planet who can build things by using UFO technology... ever heard about the Aurora project?

I have heard of loonies using the UFO in the wrong way, like here for example, UFO means "Unidentified Flying Object" nothing more, nothing about some bloody technology. If you are suggesting that UFOs are alien speaceship from the Pleiades or god knows where, then say so, dont say UFO.
Somebody told you, uh huh, and that makes it legimate, because somebody told you, right.
Yes, I have heard of the Aurora project, what about it?
