I see so many words supposingly referring to some type of 'psionic' ability, and it disturbs me to see so many containing the word 'kinesis'. Let me tell you something: All of these words are made up by a bunch of morons who weren't bright enough to know what kind of word they were playing around with. They wanted these words to sound cool and stuff, but if you're a person who thinks its important what some ability is named, you aren't aware enough to realize what this stuff is really about. It's not about giving it names, I can tell you that. Naming the stuff will limit the way you look at these things, trust me.
There are 2 words that can contain kinesis in my opinion (well actually it are simple facts, but hey), which are Telekinesis, and Psychokinesis.
Psychokinesis
Ps ycho->Psychic=of- or pertaining to- the soul or mind (Webster's Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language, 1989)
Kinetic=move/moving/movement
Telekinesis
Tele=some greek or latin word that means from a distance, from far away, stuff like that.
Kinetic=move/moving/movement
So it's quite obvious that you can use both words for the same thing, and that you shouldn't use words like 'pyrokinesis' if you are talking about raising the temperature in an object.
Pyro=Fire; heat / Relating to the action of fire or heat
Kinetic=Movement... what movement?
Now don't start whining about moving molecules. Molecules are ALWAYS moving, so you could start calling everything kinetic, which would be absurd. A MUCH better fitting word would be something that contained 'Psycho' and 'Pyro' or 'Temperature' or something like that. Pyropsychic, Psychopyro, whatever.
Although I don't like naming, we might as well come up with some new names for the stuff (don't start making things up about bullshit like 'creating raw energy'). Better fitting, more realistic, less fluffy comic-book DBZ like words, for some typical 'psionic' abilities.
I didn't write this but I feel we should abide by the rules.

Psychopyro? Is that like a pyromaniac?

This thread hasn't got much attention. It needs a little bump because people saying I want to learn hydrokinesis, cyrokinesis, geokinesis, pyrokinesis, it's all telekinesis. I hope you guys understand what I mean because giving all of these things namrs is pretty fluffy. It doesn't matter what element you affect or what you do with telekinesis it's still telekinesis.

The problem is, Ghost, this point has been made numerous times already. The people that agree with you have already said so in other threads. The people who don't agree with you know they don't have a leg to stand on. Or float on. Or whatever. Sorry, bad joke.
In short, you've made a point nobody can argue with. As far as semantics go anyway.
So what exactly are you wanting? Some suggestions for these "subpowers"? How about we just shorten it and label all these things simply "psycho"? Sorry, another bad joke. Oh goodness, now I know you're going to hate me.

I need to go to bed. I'm getting fussy.

Hate you

?
Never. Sub Powers, why would you call them "sub powers"? As I said earlier it's still tk no matter if you do it with the elements or with a psi wheel. It'd be different if you had to perform telekinesis differently to work with elements but you don't.

What I mean is that folks make up these names for these "subpowers". Meaning different "branches" of Telekineses. I'm not saying there different types of TK, but some people believe this. Besides, if they make up a name for everything they can supposedly affect, it makes their "I can do it" list that much longer.
