I dunno, but I remember the time of GTA3....all I heard or read about where freaking rumors about "Darkel".
"Darkel" was a character taken out of the game at the last minute. He was a bum who met you in that tunnel that ended at 8-ball's place, and his missions were ridiculously evil and dark. The ice cream truck bomb mission was one of his, only instead of mafioso you where supposed to blow up regular people.
In fact, I have seen screenshots from betas that show and even name Darkel. He was a real character at first, but I swear to Allah that for months people SWORE you could get to him. Everything from killing enough people to unlock him, or flying the dodo to the 'ghost' island in the ocean.
absurd.

Ah the nostalgia

My friend won a Mew at Toys R Us, back when they had a contest where if you bought something, they give you a scratch card. Unfortunately, his mom didn't send in his cart, because he was a bad kid, so he got no Mew

Myself, I used Gameshark

Caught a couple Mews for myself, and a crap load more to sell to kiddos.
Who doesn't remember Missingno., Pokemon M, and the infinite items cheat? Pokemon M sucked though

yeah you could do it. It was a gameshark code though, there was a code that let you have Sephiroth in your party too. Just gameshark it!

Actually, that's true! Sort of. Allow me to explain:
If you beat every Ultimate Weapon, and take the items they drop to a certain person in the game, you recieve "underwater materia". One of my friends actually still has a memory card with a save file containing the fabled materia, and I have seen it for myself. For a long time we tried to figure out what it did. We finally found out that it was meant to be used to revive Aeris, but squaresoft was under pressure to put the game out at a certain time, and was unable to finish that part of the game. Any pictures you saw were most likely a fake. However, the underwater meteria is not.
On a more serious note, in regards to Polybius... I just got the greatest idea. If anyone here knows any computer langauge or has any electronic skills, we should SERIOUSLY put collaborate on putting together a Polybius arcade machine and sell it on e-bay. It would be worth a fortune!!!

Actually the underwater materia is used to fight the emerald weapon. With it you can take your time instead of having to do it in under twenty minutes. Aeris was never meant to be revived, ever. The only way was with a gameshark.

i remember one from a gaming magazine in england to do with mortal kombat 2 on SNES. it was to do with entering certain cheats (possibly the blood one mentioned earlier, i can't remember) but they claimed that the cheats they got were on the US version of the game. to get the cheats to work on a UK machine, you had to tape a penny coin to the cartridge. the explanation was that the US cartridge weighed slightly more and the penny was used to replicate the weight to make the cheats work.
it was obviously an April Folls joke (being in the april issue), but it didn't stop people trying.

True (i have pictures of it) - There was a cheat with Johnny Cage uppercut fatility where he decapitates 3 head off his opponent.
Rumor from an old friend - In that level with that monk and the portal. if you choose Sub-Zero, during the fight, uppercut your opponent and then when he is in the air do a 'death ice-ball' fatility. He will die and the monk will open the portal and you fight a boss that is tougher than Shao Khan

1: Go into the parking lot behind the Malibu club
2: Look at the sky scraper across the street, this is the building where the egg happens
3: This egg is best viewed across the river, so just cross the bridge to the north and run around to the fence so you can see the building.
4; At 23:00, some of the windows in the building will light up, and create a certain image
5: Also, at 15 minute intervals (23:15,23:30...)a jet of "water" will be sprayed from the top of the building.

There's a wierd serial killerstyle guy in San Andreas too though.
I've found his house and been there several times, although he's never done anything strange, but I've seen pictures of him standing on his roof, killing people on his porch and chasing the player down the road.
These could all be forged pics, but the fact that he is not a 'pedestrian skin' and there is only the one guy that looks like him in the whole game (as far as I've seen) suggests otherwise
