We've always heard strange noises and such in this house. Specially at night. I thought the house was haunted and my husband always said it was just the house settling at night since it is a very old house. But lately there have been other things happening. We have a china cabinet in out diningroom and it has my husbands Copa di Monte dish set in it. He's very picky over it and has even made sure that each spoon is facing the same way on the saucers and that the handle to the tea cups are facing the same direction. Every morning we wake up the spoons are all facing the oposite way he puts them and even the handle on the large tea holder and sugar and creamer are turned the other way. He's made more than one remark about the "ghost" messing with his Copa di Monte set again. I had never really noticed it or even made an attempt to pay attention to it before cause I thought he was just making fun of me. But lately I have noticed his claim is not bogus at all. I've even, without mentioning to him, made sure at night that the spoons were all in the correct position and wake up in the morning to see that they are all turned. Now I know it's not him playing games because after having children I can wake up at the drop of a feather and he snores LOUD. So if he moved and his snoring stopped I would be aware of him being awake. Do you think we are both going nuts? Or could there be something in here trying to get our or maybe just his attention since it has chosen something he treasures so much to play with?

Since no one else has responded yet, I'd just like to say that I've read your post, and can offer no explanation.

DO you have children or pets? Or rats? Anything that's maybe NOT supernatural that could be moving the dishes?
Nadia Blue
Here's a question. Where you live, have you been having some low-flying planes? I live near an airport, and sometimes they're so low, vibrations can be felt.

From what you have written it sounds like someone is trying to get your husband's attention. I say this because whoever it is is targeting his prized cutlery and dishes. This may be a Spirit or it could be someone in physical form who lives in the house. (Do you have any teenagers in your home)?

You and your husband could try to communicate with it (if its a Spirit) by asking Out Loud for it to give you a specified sign. Make your request when no one else can hear you. Perhaps you could ask the Spiritual perpetrator to make a specific design with the cutlery (like crossing 2 spoons etc). You may have to repeat your request and wait a day or two for a response.

Good Luck!

No idea for this one, but it does remind me of a joking poltergeist.
Dr1273
No we don't live any where near an airport and the china cabinet is mounted to the wall because we have very many expensive dishes in it and don't want the vibration of people walking thru to knock any of them over. We do have children but they would never even consider touching anything in there. Plus none of them are tall enough to mess with any of the dishes on the top shelf where he has them placed without knocking something over getting to them. No rats or even mice. I will take a picture of the china cabinet to give you a visual of the area.

Hmm, well I'm not sure what to tell you. As far as any logical reasons. Have you tried the white sage and other stuff that ajagsfairy has been suggesting lately?

Nothing against you, because I have similar problems, but you may be the inadvertent source of this. We women in rare cases seem to set off poltergeist activity. Nothing we can do about it; it is sub-conscious. Just seems that it's energy that draws life from our minds. hmm.gif

Mine loves to tear rosaries, beaded necklaces etc. apart in ways that could not be done without instruments used by jewelers. Often the missing beads disappear, never to be seen again.

If I could only download from my old camera onto my new PC, I have documented the disappearance of the beads from a brown rosary.

Now if we could just harness this power to do our housework, it would be great! yes.gif Meanwhile, it is just a theory but more often then not there is a female in the household and the energy seems derived from her (those darn hormones again???).

Dawn,

I honestly have no explanation for what is happening with your house. I remember either being around or on the phone with you when all that stuff fell off of your kitchen wall onto the stove. Very creepy stuff.

(psstt..I think I need to come down and do an investigation and afterwards...well...lol wink2.gif )

Dr- It does sound like you do have signs of poltergiest activity.

Some poltergiests are brought on when people are going through puberty, changes in the hormones, stress, etc can be at the root in such cases.

Some are brought on in adult life during periods of stress. Finding out what's causing the stress and resolving it can sometimes help things to settle down again.

Some, though they are usually a secondary feature, or actually created by spirits that reside in the house. They may not be happy with some of the changes you've made, or just want to be acknowledged, or may have other reasons to acting up.

Normally, poltergiests don't last long (luckily), though there are some that do go on for quite some time. If you feel it will help, have your priest do a blessing, try any cleansing rituals you know of, and if need by I'm sure there's a paranormal investigative group in your area you can contact- they're usually pretty discrete, quiet, and won't release information without your permission.

Hopefully you'll be able to get things to calm down again. original.gif

Well if that ghost is doing the dishes for ya...

But seriously I don't think it has anything to do with a Poltergeist...
(Or have you had other strange experiences?)

Isn't there a road next to your house?

D. is interfering with other's business again...
...coming up with stupid jokes...
MichaelS
Posting dumb jokes is a stoning offense... no... wait... that's adultery...

Sorry. grin2.gif

If she lived by a road that's frequently used by heavy vehicles, I could see possible vibrations...

isis-999
DR-T-, could be right.. a road with large truck's could cause movement in your home? Just a thought..I was wondering has anyone ever died in the house.?

Or idiot construction crews that get to work at 4:30 in the morning pounding away....

do you live by any train tracks perhaps?
Dr1273
We don't live near any large traffic roads. I live in small town and right off the city square so large trucks and the more larger moving trucks are not aloud to travel these roads. The china cabinet is also mounted to the wall to avoid any jumping or vibrations from moving or knocking the dishes over. There was the elderly lady who passed here in the house right before we moved here and we have thought it could be her. But her husband also passed right before she did, don't know if it was right here in the house, so could be him too. And yes we have had other strange things happen. Many other times before.
Draconian_Empress
My best suggestion is to get some sort of cheap video surveillance equipment and set it up in a manner that you can get the area of the china set clearly into frame then film it overnight and see what happens. It's the best way to figure out if it's a manmade or spirit made thing.
Dr1273
Yes very true. We have thought alot about setting some type of survelience up near the cabinet to makes sure it's not just vibrations or even the kids running thru the house.

I think that would be your best bet. That way you will have conclusive evidence one way or the other just what is moving those dishes. Have you been experiencing anything other physical manifestations like voices or apparitions?
Carla
This sounds like the pictures being tilted story. Well it could just be something as simple as you live on a slope lol. Although it does sound like a poltergeist there normally noisy and like 2 move objects. There actually really misinterpreted through movies and are generally harmless just a lil noisy. It reminds me of my bedroom closet that use to constantly open on its own through the night.
Dragonic Darkness
It also reminds me of my grandma's house... one night we went to sleep and I left my little wooden t-rex thingy next to me and in the morning it was on the floor facing the bed-side table by me and the we some sort of gashes where its mouth was. My gran said it was hungry. tongue.gif
