So many offensive statements in a single sentence, amazing.
I recommend you find a better vocabulary.

The first SpyKids was pretty cool. The second was stupid, and the third i never even bothered to see because It looked so gay and retarded. And now Sharkboy and Lavagirl looks like the exact same thing as spykids 3. I wish they would stop making these horrible movies now.

Gay:
1. Of, relating to, or having a sexual orientation to persons of the same sex.
2. Showing or characterized by cheerfulness and lighthearted excitement; merry.
3. Bright or lively, especially in color: a gay, sunny room.
4. Given to social pleasures.
5. Dissolute; licentious.
Now, tell me how you can describe a movie like "Spy Kids" like that... In a negative manner, that is.
Anyway, I remember seeing the first half of the first "Spy Kids". It was an okay movie, orginial idea. Then it got popular and over-used. Went downhill from there.
"Lavagirl and Sharboy" looks really silly, though. But I suppose it wouldn't be for kids, since that is who they target with movies like that.

The first SpyKids was cool because it was a fresh and original idea. Then they had to go and ruin it by giving it some crappy sequels.

Some people really should learn to say less offensive things when they talk, and obviously can have an opinion on a movie, but it doesn't make it right.....
Those movies were created for CHILDREN. Not teenagers (well not bright ones) or adults, but kids. They do the job well of entertaining children, and go through without much (if any at all) violence. Children have a wide range of imagination, and I find the fact they try out new avenues to apply this to is great.
Which spy movie would you prefer a kid of 5 watching? Spy Kids or James Bond.....
I think you should give credit for movies that do what they set out to do, and thats be a positive for the audience they are aimed at.

They're not aimed at my age group.
So I didn't find them too interesting...
Anyway, kids don't ALWAYS suck as the main characters...
Most of the time, yes, but not all of the time.

I'm sick of Hollywood's crappy superhero obsession. Honestly is there any marvel hero left untainted by the likes of Affleck and Thomas Jane.
Those are bad enough but then you get things like this and sky high

Sharkboy and Lavagirl??? I've seen better superhero names in that 'give the person above you a supername and power' thread in general off-topic here!
Here we go, off the top of my head
Volcano man
The Oak Warrior
Bile Boy
I defy any of you too say they are worse than sharkboy

Also, kids play big roles in a lot of movies. Like Dakota Fanning in Hide and Seek and War Of The Worlds. and Haley Joel Osment in Sixth Sense. there's many more, but I just woke up and can't think

I was watching Spy Kids 3-D today, and it's one of those movies that is so stupid it's funny. It's nothing but cameos from other actors. The best one was Elijah Wood's cameo.

Fair enough. And since you are neither, why would you not enjoy them?
I find this topic very odd. You're all saying you hate it and it's silly, when it's not even intended for you people at all to watch.
I think they're great kids movies, but certainly not good movies for me to enjoy. because i'm not a child. Or, a parent.

Are you a child????? The last time I checked, these movies were intended for children. My 5-year-old son was enthralled with SharkBoy and LavaGirl, perhaps becuase he is five. How the hell old are you?????? Unless you are in elementary school, then why on Earth do you thnk you are qualified to judge movies intended for children that are too young to read and write, much less type an email or chat blog????
Get a life, you big weirdo! If you are old enough to proffer an opinion online, without your Mommie present, than none of the films you critique were meant for you! God, I hope you are an unsupervised youngster - otherwise, you are just incredibly stupid!

Welcome clgalind. I agree with your idea, though not the method of expression.
I happen to find "Blues Clues" uninteresting and absolutely stupid. Gee... I wonder why?
I think the whole "I hate it - they should get rid of it" thing is indicative of the younger generation's opinion that they are the center of the universe. This idea is fostered by parents who never let their children fail and give them everything they want - where self esteem for no reason is lauded high over character building thru struggle.

i think the fact that you even SAW those movies says a lot about your age.

Well, I'm in my 20's and I saw the first Spy Kids movie when it came out. I took my then 9 year old cousin to see it. I thought it was well-made and very imaginative, with enough excitement to be interesting, but still non-violent enough for parents to feel good about it. I thought it was a great kid-oriented film, and my cousin loved it.
No movie is going to appeal to everyone. Sure, there are some that cross age-boundaries (Harry Potter, for example, but it's becoming less geared to kids), but adults do not have to like movies that kids do.
I'm sure your parents hate some of the movies that you just think are bad ass. I'm sure I do, too. I'm betting you will hate a lot of the movies I love. We're all different and that's just fine.

I think people should back off and leave people who enjoy certain movies alone. Just because someone is able to lose themself in imagination to something you can't says nothing about there age, but possibly the fact that they have a greater imagination and more range to there enjoyment factor.
I myself enjoyed the first one, because I can see what they were aiming it at, and I thought they did it well. Not because I thought the script was amazing nor the effects nor the acting.... But it was good for what it was aimed for.
Some people need to realise criticising others enjoyment makes them look quite pathetic, and perhaps they should look at creating more enjoyment in there own life, rather then criticise others.
