I just wondered if anyone had heard anything about Derek leaving Most Haunted?

I understand that there is a rumour going around that he is going to be replaced by Gordon Smith.....................

I sat through a marathon of that show last night....

the more I saw, the less impressed I got....

That tends to be the case nowadays with Most Haunted!

LOL....my husband watched it with me the other night and commented "Do they make fun of these people online?" I laughed and said as a matter of fact they do It's become a joke. They are suppose to be paranormal investigators but the minute they hear a sound or catch something out of the corner of their eyes they completely flip and run scared.

oh well he will be missed David Well's is taking over from Derek Acorah apparently

There are some television programs about parapsychology that have no basis in reality, whatsoever. And there are some people (not pointing at anyone in this thread) who don't give a care that the entire show is fantasy and made up.

Ghost Hunters AFAIAC already treads a very thin line between genuine parapsychology and "ghost investigation" versus Hollywood razzle-dazzle and showmanship. Versus "that show" on the Travel Channel.

Yeah i agree Most Haunted is a load of BS! But its great entertainment! Although i do think there is some truth in Dereks ability. Due to an experience of mine lol, which i cant be bothered to type out now. Im sure its on another thread somewhere.

No Way! Derek can't leave!! Derek makes it what it is today along with the help of Yvette, Karl, Stu, Rick, Richard, Jason and Phil! He just can't leave!

Well, there you have it folks, straight from the horses mouth, Derek is leaving, some of you will be happy and some sad, but for those who are sad, at least you will get the chance to see him in his own show....
Dont know if thats good or not, i will leave that choice up to you

I'm in two minds about the merits of DA leaving. Lots of people watch MH because they A) Believe everything he says or think he's a fraud and watch the show for 'comic' value. When he's gone the program could drop a lot of its audience.

However without D. the show may gain a little more credibility. Also I've been noticing that D. hardly seems to be making much effort at the momment. Regardles of he was faking or not, in the early MH and MH live's he seemed to be picking up spirits all over the shop. In last weekends most Haunted live he barly picked up anything. The show is a lot more dull as a result.

the blair witch project has about as much credibility as Most Haunted. i could shoot a better show in my basement.

saw that one coming a while ago! i think the call of stardom has clouded his vision somewhat!!! his replacement is supposed to be very good! i agree in the early most haunted seires he was superb. He's all a little too theatrical now! lets hope the new guy can fill those fancy shoes of his!

Lets hope this is the beginning of the end of Most Haunted. Oh how I dream of seeing it fall……

all i know is the last episode i saw nothing happened the entire time until the last 5 minutes. then one of the guys falls backward and starts crying like a little girl saying a ghost kicked him in the chest. give me a break. the scientific proof of any paranormal experiences on that show is non existent. all they show is like 1 clip of a "orb" which can be either dust or bugs floating around considering the areas they go to are abandoned most of the time. i wonder if next season they start using ouija boards on their episodes i bet they would get some good messages from the other side with one of those....

Why has everyone got a problem with Most Haunted, G-O-D!!!!!!

I love Most Haunted and i think its all true, I have got the Most Haunted book and after reading that it has made me shure the show is NOT fake and it has also made me wanna prove that the show is genuine 2 all non believers!!!

If you compare Most Haunted to the other paranormal investigations you will notice that they don't get much happening where as the other shows get everything happening! It just proves that they don't fake things!!! They are doing their best to prove that you do live on when you die and some of the things that Derek and David come out with the team didn't even know of! Take last Tuesdays show for example, They were visiting a place in hollywood and in 1999-2000 an oldish man (the owner of the building who lived and loved this place for many years) had fell down a flight of stairs to his death! He was called Major and in the exact place where this man died David stopped and got his name and how he died and everything! Later on in the show he picked up on the same person and him appearing to scratch his face on the right side near his chin, they went to this mans best mate who sat with him as he died and asked him about this man and the 'scratching'. His friend was amazed and told the crew that Major had parkinsons. None of the crew knew this not even Karl or Yvette!!!!! How do ya explain that?????

Also in the book it says that Karl and Yvette both turned down some of the best broadcasters because they wanted to fake the show! Thats why most of the others are really good and have alot happening, because they could only sell the idea to the broadcasters if they faked most of it! (page 4 if ya got the book if not GET IT)

Sorry about going on for ages but i really think people should give Most Haunted a chance!!!! I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan and really want to get people to realise IT'S ALL TRUE!!!!!!

^you do realize that there is no way to prove darek was never given the info a head of time, and you do know that they find something in EVERY episode, and it ALWAYS relates to what was said to have happened there....as for explaining the "knowing" of parkinsons...how can you be certain they never knew about it?

Do you know them? Regardless of whether or not Derek is a fake, the ratings are going to plung when Derek leaves Most Haunted.

Gordon Smith(the Psychic Barber) is apparently the new guy. He seems genuine, from what i have seen.
I guess the producers have changed tack, in light of recent press.

Shame... he made the show entertaining in the way that it countered Yvett's constent screaming.

I don't want to see it burn.. it was entertaining...

and Derek's not the onlyone leaving... that host dude is as well. Seems like alot of people are jumping the ship as it were.

Yer i think it was real though and derek shouldnt have left he was great on it yup his new show should be great

after wat? five or six seasons? you still think we should give the show a chance? lol i'm pritty sure its had all the chance it needs...it is fake

whether it continues to be fake remains to be seen but up to the time of degseys leaving...it was most definately fake.
