I got no clue. It's something you could try out without too much trouble, tho. I think this is a good idea for an experiment, to see what turns up.

When I was younger my grandma always told me never look in a mirror in the dark, that I'd see things I didn't want to.......of course, after hearing that I'd sit in a dark room right in front of the mirror for hours.......nothing has come to git me yet.....
does anybody tried saying bloody mary in front of the mirror and then took a pic of her with your camera when she appear

I think if you set up a mirror facing a miror what you'll get is a reflection of a reflection..Take a picture of that, and you'll probably see at least something that looks a little weird to your eyes, especially given the camera angle you'd have to use..Although I doubt it would be supernatural in origin..
It would be an easy thing to try for an experiment though, as Snuffy said..
Personally I find the whole mirror portal concept a bit overrated..
Remember that until fairly recently in history, reflective opaque glass was available only to the very rich..
Regular folk tend to misinterpet meanings and start a great deal of superstition over things they have no access to. And reflections have always been an archetypical mystery to human kind..Naturally those two concepts go hand in hand, and mirrors were thought to be of great usage in alchemy and magic..From this we get vague mystical connotations of Mirrors as doorways or portals even today;even when most of us know that the superstitions of the past were based on a lack of knowledge and understanding for the most part..
And yet we still believe these things on some level..Odd how some things never seem to die out, even past their time..

It goes back to when we first climbed down out of the trees, Falco. You put down one set of fearful superstitions, and a whole new set will crop up, depending on what's going on in the times.

Falco Rex, I did that and what I got was infinaty. I put a hand mirror in front of a big mirror and I looked at it in an angle and there was a mirror inside a mirror inside a mirror inside a mirror over and over again with my face in it each time looking into it, weird. Does anyone know anything paranormal you can do with mirrors?

same thing as gazing into a crystal ball really. you can use a dark color bowl of water or a reg mirror in the dark. Sometimes you can see the future or past in it. Nostradamus used this alot.

to be honest i dont see how a mirror could harness any supernatural stuff. because its just a mixture of metals and glass. but i also think that ghosts tend to do things behind people, especially as they leave an area. so perhaps you see things behind you I dunnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Hey Wendy:This could be done by setting up a video camera, and face it toward the TV screen and record, and look at the tv scree tp look at what the camera records. What you should see is a picture in picture in picture and on and on... which is an infinite picture of itself like a tunnel. That is where they got the idea for the movie "white noise"
Warning not all TV sets will do this with all video cameras. If the TV screen starts jumping all crazy, pull the camera away from the screen that it records or it will be damaged.

When I was around 10 years old one of my friends house had this bathroom that was pretty small but the two facing walls had huge mirrors on them.
When you stood at the sink you could see yourself, front and back, reflected into infinity. It was a bit of a head trip but there was nothing paranormal about it.
Years later I found out his parents were swingers.

Yeah and you can do spells with them, to see like who you were in a past life and stuff. Has anyone ever sat in front of a mirror with a candle to the side of it in a dark room and stared at your face. I tried this and it's freaky your face starts to kind of change. You kind of loose yourself in the mirror looking at your face and it changes.

I think mirrors are freaky things

when i was little i was scared of looking into mirrors, terrified incase i saw someone/something behind me, or making sure i didnt look towards the mirror in my room on a night incase something was there.
at infant/junior school we used to do the whole bloody mary/ candyman thing, flushing the toilets, turning hand dryers on the works haha, nothing happened though other than us scaring ourselves.
this topic had intregued me a fair bit, it will be interesting hear about the results of peoples experiments
Click to view attachmentPlease help solve our mystery!!! This picture was cropped out of a family photo, and now we are curious what this symbol means in the mirror. There were three pictures taken and this symbol is only in one of them. Thanks!

There seems to be a corralation between the mirrors and the photographed reflections on the screens of turned off TVs and windows etc., wondering if it is any reflective surface that can capture this under the right circumstances????, took a picture of the front of my house to showcase newly installed christmas lights and caught something odd in the front window will try to find and post.......B

Back on topic, I don't think there's anything supernatural about mirrors. It's just a material that happens to have reflective properties. I don't think I've ever heard of ghosts appearing in sheet metal or something similarly reflective.

Ive tried all that bloody mary stuff and candles in mirror stuff when i was younger and i never had any kind of paranormal experience, just me.. with a candle.... in a mirror. Its just made up to spook kids like most urban myths. In 99% of urban myths there isnt a shred of evidence just good stories that were passed down between kids at high schools.

The sarcastic remark isn't called for. I wasn't saying Nostradamus was right about anything, only that he gazed into a bowl of water where others might use a mirror. They are both reflective surfaces. No need to be snarky, and it isn't helpful.
