This is bloody marvelous. There's no other term to describe it.
bloody-disgusting.com reports that none other than the brilliant Bruce Campbell has confirmed that he will be staring in a so-far untitled zombie movie as, HIMSELF.
I think it's is such an awesome idea for a movie, i'm already really excited for it. Get this. Bruce Campbell is going to be playing himself, and the town he'll be in, a small town in Oregon, will be seiged by zombies. The townsfolk rally together and someone recognises Campbell as Ash from the Evil Dead movies. They hand him a chainsaw and a shotgun and except him to save the day, except the real Bruce Campbell has never actually shot a shotgun or used a chainsaw!
Hilarity ensures as Campbell struggles against the zombie hoardes and ends up causing more deaths than he saves!
I got this from bloody-disgusting.com:
QUOTE
I can't believe this movie is really happening- it is seriously #1 on my list of horror movies I want to see made and from the sound of it Dark Horse will be shooting the still untitled Bruce Campbell zombie flick soon. Inside you'll find a little more details on the film in which Bruce plays himself and during a zombie attack the people of a town think he really is Ash (brilliant) and expect him to save the day...
A scooper over at AICN writes in from a Bruce Campbell book signing:
"He said the movie should be shooting sometime fairly soon this year by Dark Horse Comics. It is a small town in Oregon that gets overrun by zombies and some dumb **** recognizes Bruce Campbell from the Evil Dead series and has the "great" idea to give him a double barrelled shotgun and a chainsaw. In short, he said, "the whole town mistakes me as Ash, and I've never shot a gun, nor used a chainsaw." Bruce commented on this saying something like, "and I don't know **** on how to use either one, so I actually cause more deaths than the zombies." I mostly asked this to get a title out of him 'cause this would be bigger news, but for now it is "Bruce Campbell Untitled" I think, or something close to that. Either way, it's untitled as of yet."

No. Freakin. Way!!!!! That is the best news ive heard in a long time. Bruce Campbell is God so lets all get down on our knees and worship his awesomeness.

That movie sounds like it will be fantastic (not that it couldnt). Very good and funny idea for a movie.

Seriously. Campbell playing himself fighting zombies where everyone thinks he's Ash. Too freaking good.
There's also some shots from Fido The Zombie on bloody-disgusting too, just to be a little off topic.

Screw Fido

This new BC movie is 3454161356 times more important. I had no idea he was doing something like this. Last time I checked on IMDb, which wasn't too long ago, they only had him in 2 movies coming out. One is the Man With The Screaming Brain in which he actually wrote and directed, and some horror movie called The Woods that didn't sound too bad. Infact, IMDb still has nothing on this movie. Hopefully, we will also get some news on the Evil Dead remake. Last I heard was that Ashton Kutcher was gonna play Ash, but I think, and I'm HOPING that that was just a joke.

Unfortunately, and strangely, Bruce-Campbell.com has no information regarding this at all. There's info on 'Sky-High and 'Man with the screaming brain' as well as the new Evil Dead game, but nothing on this project.
Nothing on Evil Dead 4 either, except that it wont happen.
Shakezulah
Aug 10 2005, 01:29 AM
Yeah, they've been saying that ED4 won't happen at all, but then I hear other times that it's a possibility. I don't know what to believe. I would love to see an ED4, just incase the remake sucks, which is most likely will without Bruce in it. I don't know why they don't just do 4 instead. There's so much more potential.

Aug 10 2005, 02:05 AM
Well, the fact if there's gonna be a new Evil Dead depends exclusively on Sam Raimi, who as far as I know has got the rights for Ash.

Yeah, but after that Spidey movie (which I hope will be great as the first two

) he can do Evil Dead. I hope so!
And let us not forget that Bruce Campbell will probably get a cameo in Spidey 3. After all, he appeared in the first two, right?

ED4 may happen and the budget for the film would be awsome given, Rami's Spider man flicks. We all know how tight the relationship between Sam and Bruce is , so money won't matter.
I just hope that this isn't just pillow talk baby, and give me some sugar, OOOHHH YAAAAAA baby " randy the mocho man savage"

They are SUPPOSED to be ridiculous movies of nonsense with bad acting. They're B-MOVIES!! This is what i ment by your ignorance of movies. You can't hate a movie for being the best of it's kind that is absolutely perfect for it's genre, unless you just hate the genre in general.
And if you do, they why bother posting in a topic dedicated to it?

This movie now has a title. It shall be named "They Call Me Bruce", which is not to be confused with "They Call Me Bruce?", a 1982 film about a Korean boy who looks like Bruce Lee and is mistaken as such. That story is very similar to this one, too. Anyways, I love the name, the filming should have started at the beginning of the year. Maybe it will be out by Halloween.

I've always wanted to go on a road trip down to see Bruce's house....and ask to sign my copy of "If Chins Could Kill"
If this movie is supposedly emulating real life, I can predict that the small town will be Jacksonville, Oregon, where Bruce is currently living.
I am soo wearing my Evil Dead shirt to this thing the night it comes out, and I'm taking my action figures with me, and my friends, and there will be much fake blood.
