Howcome the object is the only thing out of focus?
My theory is probabaly an insect with a reflective cuticle. Its shape certainly suggests one.

The first picture of a group of people in the woods would have been useless because of the distance from the camera. If not for the Light Anomaly I would have thrown it away.
