What's your first impression?

And even more important, what do you think it says about people ? If anything...

a skull. i think it says about people that we see familiar shapes in a lot of pictures at first glance

one thing you have to take into consideration, is that this painting was created with the sole intention of looking like a skull. And also, the low resolution of the image omits a lot of the details of the woman, furthering the skull illusion.

It's a neat painting though.

I thought I recognized it, it's from the film Soulkeeper, which was on TV last monday on SciFi Channel.

The first thing I saw when I looked at it, was a skull.

I saw the lady in front of the mirror first, then I saw the skull. I'm contrary though.

that same image was hanging on the wall at a TGIFriday's restaraunt here. An elderly woman at that table draped her napkin over the image. She must have been insecure with her own mind. This get me thinking, I think it would be a fun idea to open a restaraunt or some other type of place people would come to and hang nothing but pictures like this that are entirely innocent until the viewer's own mind turns it into something disturbing. People would complain and all I could tell is to stop thinking like that...

My mom used to have a picture like that hanging up on a wall in the hall. The first thing I see is the skull.

I see a lady sitting at her vanity looking into a mirror. But when I backed away from the computer I saw the skull.

first time I ever saw that picture (two years ago or something), it looked like a skull, but now all I see is the lady. I can´t see the skull anymore.......donno why.

I think people see both things, depending on what mood your in. I´m in a good mood today, so I believe, that´s why I see the lady and not the skull. I have no idea what mood I was in when I saw it the first time, but, as I said, then I saw the skull first. of course, two years ago everything had something to do with skulls or devils or hell or anything. I had a hard time then, so that might be why I saw the skull.

I´m off track again, I think, so I´ll stop here.

actually Dj , I believe the picture is actually called Vanity , and it is meant to portrait the evils of the sin Vanity .. Or some such similar

First I saw the skull then my eyesight went directly to the lady.
