I will start off by sayin I have had a dog my whole life.
I currently own a miniature poodle she is 11 years old and she is so cute. She likes to speak. She thinks she is a human. She gets more attention then I do. (sibiling rivalry). She is white and hops around like a mountain goat

Now tell me about your dogs thumbsup.gif
wrighty
I have a dog called Buster. The best thing that has ever happened to me. He is an altation supposed to be long haired but looks to be bang in the middle. As you can tell my sister (xsas daughter) loves him too.
jpalz
Well, I used to have a beagle, named Max, but now he's dead. sad.gif

Still, it's one of the best things that have ever happened to me grin2.gif
wrighty
It is so sad to lose a dog he is part of the family like loosing a brother or sister.
The Skeptic Eric Raven
I have a 3 year old Alaskan Malamute. (120lbs) He is my big baby. The name you ask: Chunkey Monkey. I know its goof. He has the best temperment of any dog I have ever had. Great with my kids. He is a good dog. grin2.gif
wrighty
Beautifull dogs. I think it is a cute name.
The Skeptic Eric Raven
That is beautiful German Shepard. I had one before my malamute that was stolen from my yard as a puppy.
wrighty
Who would do a thing like that thats horrible. They are cute dogs though.
The Skeptic Eric Raven
My kids were very upset. We had just had the puppy for 2 weeks.
wrighty
user posted image you have to feel for them. How old was he when you got him.
The Skeptic Eric Raven
9 weeks old. I just hope whoever took him gave him a good home.
wrighty
You never know do you. When we bought Buster he had 7 brothers and 1 sister and I could bet at least 3/4 of the litter were taken to be groomed as guard dogs. Buster is so soft you couldn't imagine him as a guard dog they might never have an owner who loves them like we do with Bust.
iaapac
I have two schnausers, Oliver and Olivia. Of all the things I have bought in my life, they were the best.
iac_tracker
with my dog you can't even tell you have a dog she just lays around in the sun and eats I like dogs better than cats because it seems like they appreciate you a lot more wink2.gif
wrighty
I agree they are loyal and they love you. Cats just want to lie around and eat they choose to live with us if cats don't like you they leave dogs stay with you all the way.
Ruby
I have one dog named Sam. He is a Golden Retriever, he is a year old now.

nativechick1989
I used to own a Karelian/Rottweiler mix, but she was stolen. sad.gif

The next breed of dog I would like to get, is a Great Dane.

My friend ate a dog once, she thought it was chicken until her grandma said something O_o

I don't own a dog anymore, not since our last one got so stupid that he couldn't jump on the couch without slamming into it happy.gif
wrighty
Ruby I love golden retievers and I am not too keen on people eating dogs.

Dude, I had a dumb dog like that once. His name was Toby, he weighed 110 lbs. but could not figure out how to jump a fence that was chest high to him, and hisleader was Paco, a wiener dog ( dachsund ), our other dog. They ran away together to try and conquer the world.
wrighty
Thats sweet.

We have a Havanese named Henrietta. She is the sweetest dog I have ever known. She recently had puppies. Eight weeks old tomorrow.

Here is a pic:

As I posted earlier, I have a pair of Schnauzers and, to me, this is the perfect breed. They are an indoor dog that doesn't shed much. They are extremely intelligent and loving. To tell the truth, my dogs are my escape from people.

We have 2 mixed breed dogs. One is some sort of collie/sheltie mix, the other is a lab/austrailian sheep dog mix. I also have a dachund that lives in florida with my mom. (3 dogs are a little too much). April is a smart lil thing, too smart for her own good. The other is just the opposite. Dumb as a turnip, but so sweet! And she has fur so soft... I have to go to a salon to get my hair so silky!

Joining In:

I have also grown up wit dogs. As an adult I raised Old English Yellow Labs. My biggest was 150 pounds. His name was Hoover, like the vacuum cleaner. He was a gently giant. My kids rode him like a horse when they were young.

Then I went to Bassett Hounds. Really great dogs. Not at all sad sacks but rather humorous dogs. They love to do things that will make their family laugh. For a small breed they are sturdy, big boned and can be large in size. We had one that got up to a 100 pounds. We put her on a diet and she got down to 90 where she stayed.

The kids are grown, the dogs have passed and I now have another Old English lab. He is a year old last week. His name is Igby and he loves to play and play and play. He sometimes wakes me up at three in the morning by bouncing a ball on my stomach. He is a happy pup and likes to show it.

Thanks for the thread. I like to hear about other peoples dogs. I find dog people to be of the most friendliest.

Kudos to everyone for having a dog.

Thankls again,
Springsummer

I have a dog.. my b/f named him "Rex" (talk about a boring ol' name)... he was abandonned and found by a lady who already had 2 dogs. She sent emails out to people I worked with and the email was forwarded to me. I answered her and went to pick him up the same evening. He's been with us for almost 2 years now and is WONDERFUL original.gif His best pal is my cat, Miss MiMi Mew who stares at him all day through the window while he's outside. As soon as he gets back in for the night, she climbs all over him, nudges him and when he finally gives her a "kiss" (lick on the nose), she appears content and leaves him eat and drink. I adore my dog. He's a border collie / bernese mountain dog mix and now weighs approx. 90 lbs (he was 40lbs when he was found - skin and bones / poor thing hmm.gif ).
