Not sure of the laws where this story occured but here in the states all a mother must do within the first days of a newborns life is take it to a hospital, police station,or fire station and hand the baby over. No questions asked and the baby is safe. This is totaly inexcussable and she should be dealt with in a very harsh manor. This is attempted murder not a case of child abandonment. She left the baby in the woods to die that is my book is attempted murder. Bring her to the United States and hand her over to my wife. She will then find out the meaning of pain.

This don't just happen out of the US but in the US too. WHy would you make the assumption that it only would happen out of US. I live in US and not turning my back on my country, but mothers do this stuff all the time here. Most stories you read on the news and forums of mothers abandoning they're kids probably most come from US. We have so much more freedom than probably any other country in the world, yet mothers do this stuff all the time here in the US.

I think the mother when found should be stripped naked and left in the artic. For she'll think twice of doing this to her next kid and leaving the boy without clothes or blankets. I have one kid and live in Maine where it stays cold most the year so I know when a baby is born that they must stay wrapped in blankets and clothes with booties and a hat because of being so tiny, so I can see why the baby was with hypothermia.
