Does anyone here write or sing their own lyrics? I've started writing my own. I'm working on one called " Slave to Society " about how everyone is a big trend and wants to be accepted so in turn they are a slave to their society.
Please post the lyrics if you've got some.
And I'm sorry if this is sppose to be in the music section.

The first and second parts contradict each other, which may not be a problem to some, but it's one of my biggest pet peeves: when a song/ album contradicts itself(ex Usher's Confessions... That guy at first is cheating on his girlfriend, then he doesn't like her anymore, then shes cheating on him?! The poor guy doesn't know whether he's coming or going! ).
You need a chorus which will really bring out the emphasis of your song... Something that makes it your song and not just another teeny bopper song out there

well it could be from two points of view, it makes it interesting. I like it, keep working on it and it can trun out good

It makes sense in a "huh?" kind of way... I can see where you're getting at though It'll be a good song, just keep working on it

I've come to the realisation that I hate this song and it's the same thing all of the other "puks" write about. This puts me in an even depper mental block.

Just write about stuff you randomly think about.

Sitting around happen to look up "Hey, that's an awesome lookin' cloud, it looks like a duck. I'm gonna write a song about ducks."

They suck, but I'm more of a guitar part writer sooooo, yea.

I'm currently writing a kind of love song about the end of the world as well, oo, tricky.

This is the point where I got lost and decided I didn't like what I wrote again.

another thing you need to realize is that your never really going to be original. somewhere sometime someone else has or is writing about the very same thing. all you can do is try and flip the words and the music to make it your won.
