A young couple were waiting impatiently to leave on their first vacation since the baby was born but the woman's aunt, who would be babysitting was thirty minutes late. The young woman called her elderly aunt to find out what was going on, and the old woman apologized for her forgetfulness, and said she'd speed right over. Since the aunt was only a couple miles away, the couple decided they'd go ahead and go rather than wait for her and risk missing their flight. Two weeks later when the couple returned they were horrified to find the baby still in it's high-chair where they'd left it, except now it was dead and bloated, and covered with flies. The aunt really had sped, and unfortunatly crashed and died before she made it over.
This is one sickening story. It's sickening to me because it could so easily happen in real life

I read this on that sight too. It has happened on several occasions. It was even caught on video and shown on T.V. once. The moral of urban legends is that 'people are stupid'

I find it hard to believe that any parent could be that stupid, I am paranoid about leaving a baby in a high chair for a few minutes alone. And wouldn’t the baby cry after a while and the neighbours hear its endless cry’s?. Also if the old lady crashed wouldn’t the police soon be involved, and soon find out about the baby?
I hope to god its not real.

Neglectful parents what parent would leave their baby alone. And for their own selfesh reasons. People should go through training classes and get licenses before they can have kids.

it actually COULD happen with a baby, however, toddlers have been known to survive for days/weeks alone because they were able to get into the food.

One of the things that bothered me about this was that they were actually away for the whole 2 weeks without checking up on the baby/elder aunt.. they didn't even call to see what was up? 2 weeks? Didn't even have a worry? If I didn't talk to the aunt by the end of the first night I'd have been on the flight home already.

This story is stupid. NO parent would leave their baby alone. ALSO, a parent would check in on their baby multiple times a day. Who in their right mind would leave their BABY, not toddler, and never chck n on them? ALSO why wouldn't another relative know about their aunts death and notify them. This story ISN'T true people, most of the replys act as though it is. Come to think of it, last year a family was arrested here for keeping thier kid locked in a closet his whole life, so I guess anything could happen.

Nope, I highly doubt it is real! It is an Urban Legend! People make 'em up all the time and post them. There is always a tiny bit of "reality" in it, to make you think it could happen. Urban Legends are just entertainment. There are way too many flaws for this to be real.
First of all, not many parents would leave a baby for two weeks w/o checking in with a phone call or two, especially to make sure the aunt made it.
Secondly, the police would have notified family of the accident, people would have known she was supposed to babysit, someone would have called, gone over, heard the baby crying, blah, blah, blah!
It is just a made-up story for entertainment value, though, it is sick.

LMAO!!! The story is an URBAN LEGEND people, that's a "happened to a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend "thingy. I didn' think the story was all that funny, but after reading ( almost ) everyone's reaction, I damn near pee'd my pants laughing!!! Get real, Geeze!

yes it is an urban legand but one that could almost be real in many ways.

Sadly, it *is* all too realistic in many ways. Not that I believe it happened as it's told, but only a day or two ago there was a story on the news about a woman who forgot to drop her one-year-old off at day care. No one realized it until the day care bus didn't bring the child to its grandmother's house and she called to ask where the baby was. They found it dead in the car, parked outside the mother's place of business. So sad!

It is eerily reminiscent of all the stories about poor children who die in parking lots because parent's forget to take them into a store, or believe they will be okay for just a few minutes.

This one seems very plausible. With what one reads about these kinds of things that actually
are true, you can never guess how low humans will stoop when it comes to the treatment of children.

So it's okay to just leave your kid in a high chair while you leave to catch your flight? I'll have to remember this. Wait, the baby ends up dying, never mind. That totally ruins my vacation plans.

You can borrow babies?~!!!!!
That's a conversation I want to take part in. "Hey, can I borrow your baby?" "Why?" "I want to leave it in a high chair while I leave for a week." Awkward stare, then somebody calls the police. Oh fun!
