Someone I know was talking about looking at the clock at 11:11, and mentioned something about making a wish. Is there some supposed power or meaning behind seeing 11:11 often? I ask this because at least once a week (usually more) I look at the clock and it's either 11:11 or 1:11. Any thoughts? Sorry if this isn't in the right forum.

Oh hun... No one will probably ever figure this out. I see 11:11 all the time. I have looked online to see what it meant.
Some sites say its your spirit guide telling you "HELLO, Im here, pay attention"
and others say it is when we are attuned with our self.. But for gawd sakes.. how many times a day must be attuned with our selfs? I see 11:11 at least 2-3 times daily and I am not checking what time it is when I see it.

I always see it too and everyone is always saying "Make a wish and it will come true!" But its just one of those things that people do you know like when people look at the clock and yell "420!!!"

I am also German, so all kinds of numerlogical things come up with me, I ended up studying numerology for a while.

Only more recently...probly from reading this post. But I must say this, 11:11 isnt the sam eeverywere or even in the same place. Clocks dont record time arccuretly and there are many time zones.

Funny that I see 11:11 as well and I thought I was alone lol. Yep on the ll day of the 11 month at 11:11 we have one minute of silence. I do wonder whats up with seeing 11:11 all the time, it's starting to irritate me this has been going on for a year.

What wars I don't know, not exactly. My grandfather (deceased) worked in a factory for machines ( WW2 war machines ). My mother ( his daughter ) works for the veterans (V.A.)as a head nurse, was also in the army reserve once. My father was a firefighter for an airfield (now retired ). My uncle on my mothers side was a national gaurdsman (retired). Her sister works for the D.O.D. My stepfather was a national gaurdsman ( retired/divorced ). So I was interested mainly in the numbers/u.f.o./military intel/ psychic relationship for the last 12 years. I work for a vietnam veteran part time,whom has a father( WW2 navy) at the same hospital my mother works at. I also have a part time job with a retired navy man.

Quite alot of connections I know, it sounds weird.

I swear to god, I see 9:11 a lot when I look at the clock. Of course I notice it now more than I would have before the attack, but it gives me a moment to reflect on what happened.

Well, 4 is my "special" number, apparently, according to one of these personality tests I did ... maybe it's yours.

The way it happends is weird eg: Your shopping comes to $11:11, then you get a parcel that you had been expecting from Ebay....you notice it cost the person who sent it to you......$11.11 in postage, or maybe you notice the postal stamp at the time THEY posted it 4 days ago was 11:11am.....thats how it happends and if it happends to you, its obsessive. LOTS of people see it.

I hope you see it only 2 times a day at most... If you see it more, either you have to many clocks, you're checking what time it is too much, or your clock is broken.

This has happened to me a lot, too.

11:11 is just a New Age cultish movement of a bunch of new agers who "synchonized" their meditations all over the world at the same time during the time 11:11. It's basically a fad to get more followers of the belief.

And as I have said a thousand times before, our brain works by seeing patterns in the world around us. You see hundereds of numbers all day long. If you see the same one twice in a row, immediately you have a 2 digit pattern. You mind stores patterns differently than it stores random bits of info. Thus, you tend to remember all the times you see "911" more than the times you see random numbers.

Interestingly enough, you'll never hear of anyone seeing 911 everywhere before sept 11th happened. This fully supports the phenomena I have explained.

Open up any psychology text and flip to the section which discusses patterns, and you'll get alot more information on this subject. it truely explains it all.

Well I have to say insight. that your example does not prove what you wanted it to. What they are saying is the number has meaning... I'm guesing they are saying the number is a message or a sign. (right?) And 9/11 only had meaning after it happened. So that is the only time that they could get a sign (mabey to remember the day if we are talking about 9/11?)

Firstly I have no "case" to speak of or a need to "convince" you of anything. What I can do is talk about why I feel 11:11 is more than just random silliness to me and others. Having said that though, it is hard to explain just WHY 11:11 feels significant to us, why do people who see it devote webpages, songs, poetry, record companies, wedding dates etc....to this number, the short answer is I don't know. Mostly we're all still scratching our heads, wondering what this THING is. This is the element of where I guess you have to see it, to really understand. Like ghosts, if you see one but the guy next to you doesn't, you are not having the same experience and he will be unable to relate to yours....and I understand that and why you would think that 11:11 is nothing significant, to the person who saw the ghost though......nothings changed, ghost was still there, they are still freaked out

How do you make a case for meaningful coincidences. I guess it's a bit like UFO encounters or abductions. I've never had one, yet people who have been abducted feel a great need to connect to each other and share and understand what happend to them. I guess there is no way of proving that either.

I was going to write about all the 11:11 things that happend to me and keep happening to me, the many and varied ways it presents itself but I guess suffice to say that those of us who do see it, feel it is a phenomenea and I must say now to me, an old friend. Now, I can't say for sure, but the first half of the article posted at http://www.anomalousreality.com/ar/1111/ga_mag.html sounds like an almost exact copy and paste of what I read on the main 11:11 website five years ago. It throws up alot of speculation and rhetoric, which do everything to support the fact that 11:11 os a mysterious number, and nothing to explain why this may be. Now, as I'm sure you can see, this does happen to be a tactic of expanding on any myth, even if that myth may one day become truth.

Really, that sort of thing can be manipulated how one wants. For example, lets try it with the number 4.

First, here is what is posted on the site to serve as a comparisan:
* Date of the attack: 9/11 = 9 + 1 + 1 = 11.
* Trade Towers resembled ‘Eleven’.
* The World Trade Center was sold 11 weeks before the attack.
* 110 (11) floors two each trade tower
* AA (American Airlines) is numerically 11
* American Airlines Flight 11, carrying 81 passengers and 11
* September 11th is the 254th day of the year: 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
* After September 11th there are 111 days left to the end of the year.
* Twin Towers - standing side by side, looks like the number 11.
* The first plane to hit the towers was Flight 11.
* State of New York - The 11th State added to the Union.
* New York was the 11th state to endorse the Constitution.
* New York City - 11 Letters.
* The Pentagon - 11 Letters
* Afghanistan - 11 Letters.
* Flight 11 - 81 on board - 8 + 1 = 9
* Flight 175 - 65 on board - 6 + 5 = 11
* Flight 93 - 63 on board - 6 + 3 = 9

Now, here is my revamping of said numerology with the number 4:

Date of the attack: 9/11: 11 - 9 = 2. 2 is a multiple of four. There are two 1's in 911. 2 x 2 = 4.

The trade towers were both 4 sided buildings.

Each building had 110 floors. (1+1+1+1=4)

The words "american airlines" have 16 letters in them. 4 x 4 is 16.

The towers side by side look like the roman numeral 2, which is a multiple of 4.

The first plane to hit the tower was flight 11. 1+1=2. 2 is a multiple of 4.



There are just a few. I'm sure I could provide hundereds if I wanted to.

But why does that site have a blatantly false piece of information on it I wonder? Did you just get it from a wrong source? Or did you put it in there to support your website's 11:11 theoru, hoping no one would check on the facts?

I understand what you mean. But still, something that is signifficant to me isn't nessecarily significant to the world it's self in any way. I really think you should do some study into how the human brain functions by recognizing patterns.

Yes and Yes, more than you realise, my son is autistic and I have been very involved in psychology and trying to understand this area for a long time.

Though I'd have to say, the more education you have, the more you just believe what you are taught. An original thing at University is a frightening thing to the establishment. The smartest people in the world are the least "educated" IMO
