It's apparently happened everywhere. Every small town in north america says it happened there once.
You'll be hard pressed to find actual evidence of this ever happening though.

If you go to that papers web site you might be able to find it then all you would have to do is make a link to it.

It did happen here at the beginning of the summer (Sault ste marie, Ont). A teenage girl was beheaded when she placed her head outside the car. She was going to a friend's cottage with friends to celebrate their high school graduation. The newspaper said that her friends where traumatised by the experience... I don't know, your friend's headless body falls across your lap, why would that be a traumatic incident???

These things happen. Someone was killed in the UK last year because he stuck his head out a train window to see how close the station was and another train took his head off as it passed.

Painful. Why do people shove their heads out in the first place. Pure stupidity

I heard that someone was at a fair and was on a ferris wheel and it caught her hair I don't think its true.

I heard that someone was on a rollercoaster and her hair got stuck and it wripped off her scoup.

We don't have one here, and we live in a really small town.

i wonder if the bus driver knew if the kid had his head hanging out the window? the bus drivers do have to take some stick off the undisiplined kids.

It happened here to a woman long time ago, she had her arm out of the bus window, another bus came from the opposite end and cut her arm off. Sometimes i see her wondering around in streets, she became a bit looney since the accident, some ppl also make fun of her, telling her things like 'come on, clap ur hands' thats really cruel

Highly unlikely. Trains in the UK do NOT get that close to each other.. there is gap of several feet between them. (otherwise the overpressure would implode windows when two trains pass each other in opposite directions).

Unless the person in question had a 6' long neck, of course.......

Edit: But I'll bet in Japan if you stick your head out of one of those "Bullet Trains" the speed would snap your neck off.

it could defintely kill her but cutting her head off. seems rather unthinkable. at a certain speed at a certain angle. that would cut of the head.

Our stop signs here aren't that close to the edge of the road. You would have to hang half way out of the car to even skim the edge of it. I think this story prevails just on the fact that it could possibly happen.

I don't know about the UK or even Europe for that matter but I do know here in the states our trains that would be side by side are several yards away from each other. You would think that the UK government would have enough since to do the same. It seems somewhat ridiculous that two trains would be able to be close enough to one another that someone could actually get hurt just by opening there window.

there was another one, where a group of lads stick there heads out of a coach going at 50mph, they enter a tunnel. the neck breaks, bt no decapitations...

Something like that just happened here in the US like some months ago. I don't remember all the details (although I read it on cnn.com) but these 2 friends went out to drink, and they were sooo wasted on the way back. The guy who was in the passenger site took his head out of the car so he could puke out of the window, and the friend who was driving kept, of course, driving. Then he got home, parked the car and passed out. Woke up next day to find the decapitated body of his best friend next to him! What they found out later that happened was that when the friend was puking iwth his head out, the car must have passed next to some wires (i don't exactly remember what kind of wires, maybe phone lines?) and that cut his head off, and of course the boy fall back into the car. What a huge trauma for the friend!
