I was in my house alone one day when I started hearing this noise from my bedroom window..like a choking sound. My grandfather died about three months ago in a coma. I think the noise might be when we took him off the venlelator knowing he was not going to survive. Is that what it could be? Does anyone have any theories? Thanks.

Well then that is probably what it is.. if not, do you have any sort of appliane/machine in there that could "choke up" and make the sound you heard?

Depending on if he was on other life support, it was probably hardest for the people around him.

Why did everyone just assume it was a ghost? Meh.
Sounds like a dog choking on a bone outside, seen it happen plenty of times.
Could even be kids or something messing around, had that happen alot too.
But then again, quick question, the first thing that came to your mind when you heard the choking noise was your grandfather? Then to me it's a 50/50. Did he die in the room? Was he really close to you?

It was probably just someone outside your window. I can’t see why your grandfather would want to make a choking noise that would remind him of his death.

Maybe it was an animal outdside digging through leaves? Anything like it perhaps? Should exclude every possibility by going over them before referring to ghosts.
