PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Snow in August? That's what greeted churchgoers in Providence Sunday.

A 4-foot-high pile of snow showed up outside the First Unitarian Church at Benefit and Benevolent streets.

Some were puzzled by the spectacle. Others joked that it was a Unitarian miracle. The consensus is that a nearby ice rink dumped the pile of snow there overnight.

The Rev. Diane Miller, the church's interim minister, said it yielded good snowballs and felt refreshing on a muggy August day.

Don't feel bad, we can't get that in OH, either! tongue.gif

You get that anywhere there is an ice rink.

The only ice rink we have around here is when my back yard floods and then freezes over! LOL

Snow in August?? No . . I won't be one bit surprised. One year that happened where I live, although it wasn't a foot, we had a good snow storm. Surprised the heck out of everybody - one of those 'freak storms'.

As the article says, it was just from an ice rink. Nothing strange, weird, unusual etc at all.

I bet they had fun with the snow in the muggy heat. I know I would have! grin2.gif
