Fantom uzbunio građane Ljubovije

LJUBOVIJA - Cela Ljubovija od juče ujutru priča o misterioznom fantomu koji je preksinoć leteo iznad ljubovijskih krovova. Po rečima očevidaca, koji ne žele da im se ime pominje u novinama, figura u obliku čoveka najpre je s krova zgrade u Karađorđevoj ulici preletala na krov takozvane Žute zgrade, a onda brzo menjajući smer odletela prema „Ljubovijatransu“.

Očevici pričaju da je misteriozni letač imao plašt na leđima, oči su mu čudno sijale, a oko cele figure je bio čudan odsjaj! I dok su se po gradu ispredale razne priče - od toga da su stigli vanzemaljci do toga da je viđen helijumski balon ili da neko ima lutku na daljinsko upravljanje, misteriozni fantom je juče oko 15 časova ponovo viđen kako leti prema brdu Kik. I novi očevici dali su potpuno isti opis: ljudska figura sa crnim plaštom leti velikom brzinom, kao da ima motor na leđima. Posle ovog viđenja i oni trezveniji, koji su u celoj priči tražili neko logično rešenje, ostali su bez teksta.

Ljubovijskoj policiji, bar do zaključenja ovog broja, niko nije prijavio misterioznog letača, a u gradu i dalje traju nagađanja šta bi to moglo da bude. Inače, ovaj događaj je potisnuo sve ostale. U ovom gradu na Drini se samo o njemu priča. Čak je i sinoćna utakmica Partizana bila u drugom planu. Mnogi, naročito deca, neprestano osmatraju nebo nad Ljubovijom i s nestrpljenjem očekuju veče, nadajući se da će i oni videti misterioznog fantoma.

The entire Ljubovija is since the night before yesterday talking about the mysterious phantom that was flying above the Ljubovian rooftops. By the words of whitenesses, who don't want to give away their names to the newspapers, the figure was in shape of a man who jumped from one roof in Karađorđe street and started flying to the rooftop of other building, and then started flying to "Ljubovijatrans" building.

whitenesses say that a mysteryous flyer had some kind of cloak on his back, his eyes were glowing and around his entire figure there was a strange glow. While the vity folks rumoured all kind of stories, from ufo's to weather ballons - yesterday around 15:00h the figure was sighted again flying towards the "Kik" hill. New whitenesses gave out exactly the same description as those the night before; human figure with black cloak flying very fast, almost as if he had an engine attached to his back. After this sighting even those more suspisious who searched for any logical explanation possible started to suddenly believe at what's happening and it left them speechless.

To Ljubovijan police, at least to the time this text was written, nobody called in the mysteryous flyer and in the town, everyone is waiting what will happen next. This event stirred everyone. In this town on Drina it's the only subject people talk about. Even the yesterdays football game was their second subject. Many, specially the kids, watch at the sky of Ljubovija endlessly and with anticipation they wait what'll happen, hopefully to see the mysteryous phantom once again.

I was quite fascinated by the idea of a 'mothman' after seeing The Mothman Prophecies (movie starring Richard Gere, inspired by true events?). According to that movie, the mothman always shows up in some part of the world, ahead of a natural disaster. I don't know how much of that is true and how much of it is fiction, but I thought the movie was quite realistic and believable.

I am a citizen of Ljubovija. First, it's not a "Village", it's a municipality...In town live about 4000 citizens. There is one more article (I cannot translate it now), with eyewitnesses' statements...People here are scared, as there are so many witnesses who saw the same thing, as described in Mothman story...National TV same to make a story...I don't know what to believe in, but my cousin and his wife saw the same creature in 1990, but they didn't talk about, as people would think they're crazy...Who nows...
