It’s pretty common for kids to go trolling on game forums and make obnoxious claims such as having a go on the Xbox 360 in their own home. Well, this thread on Gamespot started that way, except the kid actually backed up his claims with these photos:

Now the kid is begging to get the thread deleted (maybe he found out what an NDA is), but the cat is already out of the bag. Apparently his step dad just started working for Microsoft under the title of Regulatory Compliance Manager, and is currently hardware testing the Xbox 360. The wires coming out the top are for such testing. The hardware is apparently complete, and although there were no 360 games to test, he gave Halo 2 a spin in backwards compatibility. He is claiming the power supply is external, and is enourmous. He also raved about the user interface/dashboard and the feel of the controller (and this coming from an admitted PlayStation fan, so it must be good).

You are a damn lucky kid, but I hope you didn’t just cost your step dad his new job.

Now then, are these photos real, or another campaign ad for Microsoft(for those of you that didn't know, www.ilovebees.com and www.ourcolony.net are sites that Microsoft used to promote Halo2 and Xbox 360, respectively.)? I think they could be authentic tongue.gif

You mean a Non-Disclosure Agreement? I doubt his dad will lose his job, those pictures don't show anything that we don't know about the Xbox360.

I spoke to someone in the Gaming Industry about this situation. The father of the boy has been fired and Microsoft have launched a liable court case again them. It turns out that the boy listed the details of the specifications of the XBOX 360

I've actually put my deposit down on one a couple of hours ago, WOO HOO!!!

....then again, his father did bring it home for him to play. Why else would it be in the house?

You can't really expect a lad not to boast about it online when the whole freaking world is waiting for it. How cool would be he at school?
Fathers fault, and he deserves to be fired for it, although it sucks ass for him.

Why are wires sticking out the top of it? That just looks plain stupid.

For testing.
