I got a misphonecall last night. I didn't answer it because it was no one I would know. When the Recording machine turned on, as little kids voice age ranging from 9-12 said "Mama, their's something black up here in the woods, could ya tell papa to shine the light up here?"
Azalin
That is kinda eerie, hmm.... you could get the number traced back, and see if the kid was alright.

I actually had a similar phone call awhile ago. The answering machine got it, and it was just a bunch of weird distorted noises. I could hear screams, and a voice saying that hell is coming, be ready, or something along those lines, it was really hard to make out. I just shrugged it off as some pranksters.
Euphoric Deception
All I've been getting are annoying telemarketers. Btw, isn't this in the wrong section?

As for these eerie messages, I wouldn't worry about it because they usually are pranksters.

It reminds me of a urban legend of that a phone call's waves can get lost in some sort of something...and not recieve it for years...sort of creepy if you got a phone call from someone who's been dead for 10 years like someone who reported this and had proof.

now that would be something to be scared about, unless it was actually a mis-dialing.
angel-roh
Maybe a prank call.

It could be.

I mean people these days likes to prank calls. I had prank calls more than 10 times.... it's stupid. I want to have a freaking caller ID!
~*S.T.R.*~
I agree it was probably a prank...but have you ever been on the phone with someone and hear your neighbors phone conversation? Happens around here all the time!

When i was like 15 or 16 i saw the movie miracle mile ( a random guy gets a wrong # phone call on a payphone from a guy in a missile silo trying to alert his parents about the incoming nukes, but he dialed the wrong area code, and after he realizes this you hear gunshots)

At my cousins house a few weeks later at like 3 in the morning, I made several very simlar phone calls to random people and some of them got REALLY FREAKED OUT (oh my god mom the missiles are flying we just launched a counterstrike theres like 6 coming in to detroit IN THE NEXT 2 HOURS, head up north, hurry up!!!! WHO THE HELL IS THIS OMG DID I DIAL 312??)

It was a mean thing to do, but goddam was it FUN

I have had similar experiences. For the past week or so, I have been getting calls that show up on the caller ID as "Unknown" but not answering when I pick up the phone. Just the other day they called twice, one minute apart. But they never answer. They just hang up after I say "Hello?" a few times. They called again today but I just muted my ringer and didn't answer. Maybe If I stop answering, they will stop calling.

Doesn't your recording maching give your name or phone #? if so, why would the kid leave a message when he knows it's a wrong number. Most likely a prank. thumbsup.gif

a prank.... but after 7 days hear i am...if u saw ring 2 ull understand....
Lottie
The most obvious conclusion to this is that its a phone prank. There are many bored people out there, why even waste your time questioning it.

hmm.gif For many years, while I was still living at home, the telephone would ring every morning at 3:33 A.M. The whole family would be home sleeping, but somehow? I was the only family member who ever heard the telephone ring. When I'd answer the telephone though, a man was on the other end of the line and he would moan this guttering moan which was NOT sexual. Of course, it didn't take long before I became afraid to answer the ringing telephone in the wee hours of the morning, and I couldn't ignore it either because this man on the other end would NOT hang up until the telephone on my end was answered. It was in the days of no Caller I.D., and our telephone was not plugged into the wall, but wired and you couldn't take it off the hook due to the then unstoppable and extremely loud and annoying rapid busy signal which resonnated throughout our house.

As mentioned above, this went on for many years. To this very day I don't know who that man was/is (?- if he existed at all), or if he still exists today. I know that it left a mental block and fear on and in me concerning answering any telephone period, and most especially one ringing in the middle of the night.

Answering a phone call in the middle of the night is pretty freaky in itself. Especially if you don't know the number or it's blocked.

And yeah, "Unknown" callers are nothing. My family use to get those. Only reason we don't anymore is because we all use cell phones now and not home phones. =P

I will say that I have read this thread a few times and something keeps at me about what was said. So here Iam gonna post what occurs to my mind. First the wording and pharasing is all wrong for 2005. It is grammaticaly correct for another time period and yet it truly sounds like a child doing the prank, why would a child pick such an abstract way of speaking and explaining things? \

This dumb call is bugging me, wish I could hear it, I dont feel it is a prank call. I always delete and erase things I wish I had saved by accident. To hear the stress in the voice would give a different perspective to its vaidity, to hear it is much different than seeing a print out of what was said. Can you tell us more about the background noise or the speakers voice influctions?

I hate a phone call after midnight, I always go at it with two fingers crossed in a cross shape at I answer it to ward of evil, this is dumb but I started in in my teens and it stuck. Bye

I would be terrified even if it were pranksters sad.gif

Wow. hm ;/

a few months ago i kept getting calls on my cell phone with a 'unknown' thing, wayyy late at night, but my phone would never ring I'd just get a bunch of messages with really skgs things on them, i eventually started making my brother check my messages for me because I was sick of hearing all the heavy breathing/cracky voice talking about comming to get me. i still get them every once in a while, ;/.

hmm.gif Thank you for your reply. I didn't quite understand your opening paragraph, however, yet, nevertheless, I am not a child using this forum to express myself, "if" that is what you were implying. Please understand though, as aforementioned, I didn't/don't quite understand your first paragraph.

Regarding the background noise of the telephone call, that's what adds to the overall strangeness of those calls. There was absolute silence behind and around him. His voice sounded as though it could have been half electric and half human, although I knew without a doubt that he was indeed human. I think I'll forever hear his moans for the rest of my life upon thinking of this subject. I'll never forget it.

I got a voicemail on my mobile before all yells and noises. I think they hadn’t realised my phone had gone onto answer phone and picked up the noises of there TV.
Bebi
I know this isn't on the lines of phone calls, but when I was about 12 I had a tape that suddenly picked up weird stuff. It was fine when I bought it and for about 6 months, then one day ther were all these weird voices and screams behind the music. I played the other side in case the cassette player was picking up anything from the back of the tape and it was fine. I played it in every cassette player I could get my hands on to the same result. It really freaked me out, it really sounded like someone was really in pain. After about 2 weeks the strange noises disappeared and I never have been able to recreate this.

I receive a call once and it sounded weird. I heard like a noise when you turn on a radio or tv and just see black and white lines. I use a spell to figure out what it was saying and it said to beware something bad is approaching.

thanks, i googled it... original.gif though, i think someone else has got it to on this forum. don't know who got it first hmm.gif
Lord Umbarger
Firstly, let's assume that the call was not a prank.

If I recieved a message that said "there's something up here in the woods, tell Dad to shine the light on it", my first thought would be that it was a cell phone. Not a lot of children have a landline phone up in the woods. Also, he/she was close enough to his /her parents to request a light be shone from thier location. This would suggest that the kid was not all that deep in the woods. That alone could kind of indicate that the child was in no "real" danger.

Still, I have to admit that without knowing exactly what the kid was seeing, it does seem a little unnerving.

Iam sorry you misunderstood my first paragraph, Here is what I meant: It sounds like a child on the machine, The words the caller chose were out of place and sound old fashioned somehow like a loooong time ago the way people talked. I dont think if a kid did the prank call he would try to change the way he talked just for the call. I dont refer to you in my post except to ask about the background sounds. Thanks for letting me know that there was just silence, this means it probably wasnt someone outside and on a cell phone the way one of the posters implied, there would be noise of somekind.
Have you recieved any further calls that you think are somehow associated with this one?
I would believe it to be a real call, not a prank, wish we could figure out what was going on that night, let us know if anything else comes along. Thanks original.gif P.S. MOANS????? Please explain "his moans" .

Same thing happened to me a while back. I got a call where some kid was saying "Mommy, I want to go." Then, he started yelling and crying, and he said he had to go. I had it saved for a while in case something happened, but afterwards, I deleted it.

D*mn, RIck, That is kind of creepy. That one gave me the goose bumps. I wonder how the kid made out?
