CONWAY, N.H. - They say you can get just about anything at Wal-Mart, including arrested. Police say employees at a Wal-Mart called to report a young man was in the store on Tuesday in an orange prison jumpsuit and handcuffs, asking for a hacksaw.
It turns out Joha Turner, 18, of Pittsburg, hadn't escaped from anywhere. He told police it was a prank. They told him he was under arrest, for disorderly conduct.
Source----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cop was just being a jerk, the guy didn't tell the people to call the cops. So what if he dressed up? Is it a crime? jeez...
However... I do want one of those orange prison jumpsuits... that would be wicked.

You got to think of the big picture. What if he was a prison escapist, some kind of serial killer, and he continued to go on and kill someone because the Wal-Mart employee never reported anything ?.
The person got charged for such a prank, and I don't doubt it. He took the cops time, as well, the cop had to make an example, otherwise this trend can continue, and maybe even escalate to a more extreme prank.

I'd say it's the young man who is an idiot. What did he expect? If people knew it was a prank, it'd be pointless. And if they did not, then the police were going to be called. I don't know if he really should have gotten arrested, but Azalin had a decent point.

It's not illegal, but its not smart either. Like I stated before, if you go into a store with a jumpsuit and handcuffs, you can kinda suspect someone is gonna be suspicious. And it's good that they were, what if it was a prison escapee, then the employee would of been congradulated.

I am in complete agreement with the arresting officers. If this kind of behavior is allowed what is next? The line must be drawn and enforced. Get over it, certain behaviors will not be tolerated. Ohh and by the way I would not have found this prank the least bit funny. Sounds to me like someone who may not have gotten enough of his Mommy's attention or perhaps he had poor toilet training. Either way he got what he wanted, he got attention. I hope he is enjoying his attention.

Did you ever 'hang out' with other people and joke around in middle school/Highschool?
Most people pull jokes on other friends (or foes). Why? To have a good time of course. I don't see how you (or anyone) cannot find that prank the least bit funny... That is, If you have no sense of humor.
If anyone, It was you that didn't have a forfilling childhood.
Anyway, I guarantee this wasn't a solo prank. His friends or others probably wanted to watch
the reactions on unknowing faces. Maybe they even filmed it.
This is truely a pathetic arrest. In that case, Why don't they call the police on every guy that has 4+ gold chains, a backwards hat & low shorts.

It is not a pathetic arrest, it is completely justified. This man impersonated a danegrous escaped convict, and in doing so not only wasted the time of the police which could have been better used saving lives, but also terrified the staff at the walmart.
In case any of you aren't aware, wasting police time is a felony, and arrest on that alone is more than justified.
Cops don't arrest people wearing chains, becaused they're not wearing inmate jumpsuits and handcuffs, obviously. What a silly argument to make.
This is why law enforcement is so hard in the US and people have to defend themselves, because you all defend actions which take up police time for nothing but stupidity.

Is this what society is accepting nowadays?? I totally agree with him getting arrested. It was stupid of him to try pulling off that stunt. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated under any circumstances. If you want to dress up like that for Halloween, that's fine, but don't go into a store or any other public place like that with handcuffs looking for a hacksaw. Needless waste of taxpayers' money in that town. Anyone who thinks of copying what that kid did, just remember the money to pay those cops comes out of YOUR pocket.

The Wal-Mart employees had every right to call the police. If a man charges into a place of business in prison jumpsuit and handcuffs asking for hacksaw what are they to believe he mother teresa. Of course someone going to call the police. He caused alarm to the people and employees in Wal-Mart. The police had every right arrest him. The man that decided to pull a prank in Wal-Mart showed a total lack of common sense.
Law enforcement had to waste there time on this guy which could have been better used helping someone in need.

On the serious note, I believe the authorities did the right thing in arresting that guy.
