I apologise of this has already been started somewhere - but the stories that have been told that class as Urban Legends... where do they come from and how do we konw if they are actually true?
I followed a link someone a thread I ws reading and it was a brilliant website, full of stories that were in funny and disturbing.
Some we say are true, and some we say are completely false, but how do we know? Obviously if something had happened like in these sroties a lot of us would have seen them on the news - ubt if something happens in a small town in another country how can we prove it's credibility?
I still love them though - some of them are REALLY freaky!!!

had a good look at the site - it really is very interesting!
A lot of what I read I had heard before and thought to be true - how wrong was i? However, someting has just happened that has REALLY peed me off.
I went into a forum that I swore I would never go in again because it was full of women who were just up each others arses. Anyone who dares make a new comment beware - if one person doesnt agree the rest will follow suit.
They were discussing urban legends, and one in particualr that I had seen on snopes just now, so I post the link and it said that it was true.
My reply was that everything on snopes is urban legends and they are all fake. i tried to point out that snopes showed true AND fake stories, and since then have got about 5 replies saying that I'm lying and I should have facts before I make future posts about anything like that.
I'm really just ranting on about nothing but t has really peed me off. I don;t think I have ever some across a bunch of people as bitchy and nasty in my life - and ive met a few!! Cna people sometimes not accept that they are wrong??

You will find a few here but the MODs do a very good job.
