Does anyone know who owns those famous photos of the Mothman on the bridge? It looks like he jumps off, too. Who has the copyright on those?
I tried to add the attachment to this post...not sure if it came out, or not.
Here's a link where I found them...

If you look at the second picture, the one that looks like its 'taking off', there doesnt seem to be a shadow on the water, which suggests to me that the object in that pic is actually a lot smaller than is being made out. IMO anyhoo...

I think the reason Moffy was given that name was because of the 'wings' and well, the fact that he resembles a giant moth. We already know of reports of 'Goatman', 'Owlman' etc, they are just names given due to the descriptions.
Now 'Sharkman' I would love to see!

What's so creepy of the Mothman was that he was seen by hundreds of people within a few years radius in West Virginia.

Wow.... you have never heard of mothman? This isnt a name made up last week or something its been a legend for quite some time. The name is just exactly what it is suspected to be. I remember many years ago when i was in elementary the library had a book on monsters and he was in there. I was hooked on getting more info on him from then on.
Point is this is something that has been happening for many many years with many sightings. Its not something to scoff at because of the name.... i cannot believe you have been a member of these forums and not heard this 1000 times....

Just to make sure I've got it right. The mothman is supposed to be seen before some sort of disaster? Now is that just things like the bridge problem in point pleasant or are they seen before natural disasters like the tsunami or hurricanes as well? Does anyone know the last known sitings of the mothman? Are they seen all over the world? Things like that, would these pictures have any credibility to them that it is possible to take this thing in a photo? I mean is it a physical being or is it supposed to be more of a spiritual thing? anyone know?

I hate websites that have black backgrounds and neon lettering! So unofficial looking!
I cant make out much from the photos. The most interesting thing about mothman is that a creature like that doesnt even seeem to belong to this planet. Bigfoot is a human ape and Nessy is a dinosaur. This is my favorite Cryptode...besides garden gnomes.

Mothman has always been one of the most well documented of all cryptids. But doesn't anyone else besides me think he looks a little like Rodan in that picture?
Meji
Sep 3 2005, 05:36 AM
Yeah, Rodan!... That would give an itch... the photos are hard to make out... for all we know it could just be a crow. It would be cool if it was Mothman, that would mean hes still around.

the cryptozoologist could be right, im not sure. i heard about a guy jumping off all dressed up. so that could be these pics. even though they are pretty blurry, its tough to tell for sure. but i beleive in him, so ill probably just say its the mothman (or a bird)

Mothman seems like a creature that is far, far more intelligent than us...I really don't see why something that intelligent would appear openly on a bridge for no apparant reason.

Anyone who trys to disprove Mothman should read the Mothman Prophecies.
I have family in West Virginia, and until I read that book I had no idea the Mothman even existed. It infact had been sighted in the county I was in. I must've been insane to climb the mountains at night like I did

.
Overall, I think there is a reason why West Virginia is plagued by monster sightings. First Flatwoods, and then Mothman. Mothman is probably the most real cryptid we even study. Hundreds (possibly thousands?) of sightings within a year seems to credible to me.

There is a small prehistoric forest inside a national park in West Virginia.
I do not think they have any pictures of it on the net.
There is a board walk to walk on through part of it.
A waterfall that is a b----ch I hear to climb to is not that far away.
There are lots of bear there in that area I think.
Leading up to Flatwoods is a river named Birch river. A black rainbow shows up there pretty often at night. I saw that myself. Very lovely. I guess the river mist makes it somehow with moonlight. I just know I liked looking at it a lot. It was big.

There were good quality cameras in 2003. Where are the qood quality photos to show for it? It's a shame that the people who happen to come across these creatures always have old cameras, eh?

Of course, otherwise the Loch Ness Monster wouldn't be counted as a crypto.

http://home.manyrivers.aunz.com/sting1946/mothman.htmI have heard a lot about the mothman stories I have seen these photos also. There are a few things about these photos I found odd. Why would someone have a video camera in hand and in focus at the end of a bridge out of the blue ready to film someone/something jumping off the top of a bridge? #2 it looks like it was set up to film some guy in a robe jumping off.

its funny how every picture, for the most part, that is taken of a ghost or crypto, or whatever, is done so with a 1 mega pixel camera, or some high speed film that is grainy as all hell.

Don't think it really matters these days, arguments will always exist that analogue pictures are too hard to make out, digital images are too easily enhanced.
Unfortunately, it seems only a body is irrefutable evidence.
