Full Version: Most Believable Cryptid Poll

Magikman
Which mysterious creature do you believe has the greatest probability of eventually being proven real Identify other choices in your own posts if you like. I did not list the giant squid, as identifiable carcasses have been found that lends unquestionable  credibility to their existence. Yours truly could be considered indicative to the 'New Jersey Devil, Mothman, various and sundry Trolls &/or fairies' category. :s04

MAGIKMAN  :sg
Saru
The Giant Anaconda got my vote. Given that it supposedly exists in such a huge area of tropical rainforest, and that it, like the Giant Squid, is an alleged larger species of an existing animal, it is a lot more likely to be real than any of the other cryptids on the list.

The least  likely creature on that list to be a real creature, is the Magikman. Poor photographic evidence, and a tendancy for witnesses to fall unconscious only seconds after claiming they've seen one, seems to suggest that this creature is nothing more than the fabrication of confused locals, as a result of their tendancy to drink several pints before walking home on their own after nightfall.

But SaRuMaN,   the stories of the Magikman  have been so exciting and provocative (albeit embellished alot!)  I believe they will soon be authenticated!   :s3

Actually,  I feel the chupacabra have a better chance of being believable!   ::)
Sheff_Pud
Naaah you gotta go with Nessie-it's a matter of national pride.  :s01
Homer
I agree with SaRuMaN. Given the options, I think the Giant Anaconda is most likely to be real.
Guest
the most likely to be spotted very hard to say :s6
Bigfoot?.......followed by my Anaconda........most likely to exist yet again Anaconda, big foot and the giant Squid but even bigger! least likely would be chupacabra.
other outsiders would be Giant ground Sloth and sabre tooth cat of south America vintage.
Anaconda will only be spotted after very lengthy stay while occupied doing something else :s03
not likely to see a thing if actively hunting for it :'(
i think this is called Murphy's law! :s03
Druss
The giant anaconda gets my vote.  :se

But I would love nessie to be real.  :s01
Magikman
"exciting and provacative"

Ahhhhh.........thanks KC, you're making me blush. :se  And Gareth almost had me convinced I was a figment of my own imagination.   :s04

Magikman  :sg

* - Hey, I got one vote, yea!!!  :sk  That makes me as 'real' as the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot.  :su
PurpleStuart
Giant Anacondas get my vote, but i wouldn't rule out the Yeti either and i definately agree with Druss on the Nessie stakes.
Guest
good; people believe like me.........seems obvious too :s8
so many sightings cant be wrong, there is something out there i'm totally convinced there is :s08
Althalus
The snake got my vote also, it seems that snakes can already grow to large lengths, in an unknown part of the jungle, they could be even bigger.  But things like the mothman, are just made up.  Probably by the brain when it goes into a auto-pilot mode, when tired.
Ridgway
big foot gets my vote, although i probably believe them all except chupacabra i cant say ive ever heard of that one.
i dont want any of them to be confirmed it ruins the whole mysteriousness about them, they will all end up with the fate of the elephant man (people buying body parts etc etc)
SpaceyKC
               Magik now has 2 votes!!
Hmmm....perhaps there is some truth to those stories!!   :P
Ghostboo
what is the thunderbird?never heard of it.instant message me if you can offer info.thanks
Homer
Ghostboo,
There are a lot of sites you can look up, but here is one site RIGHT HERE that explains it.

I hope this helps.

I picked Anaconda.

"The python holds the world's record for length of a snake, with the longest ever measured at 33 feet. Even though the longest python is longer than the record-holding anaconda, the girth of the anaconda is far bigger. Anacondas in the jungles of South America can grow as big around as a grown man.

The largest documented anaconda measured almost 28 feet long, with a girth of 44 inches and weighed over 500 pounds.

There are some historical reports of early European explorers of the South American jungles seeing giant anacondas up to 100 feet long! Some of the native peoples of the South American jungle have reported seeing anacondas up to 80 feet long. No one has caught and measured an anaconda anywhere near that size, but it sure is amazing to ponder the possibility. "

I would so like to believe that Nessie is real but have to take it with a pinch of salt with all that they are doing up there they still can't find anything :s6
;D As for the stories about Magikman well those will have to be verified b4 we believe all  :s1

So my vote went for the giant Anaconda as snakes do grow to some great lengths
I voted for Giant Anaconda it the pnly one that i think is the most likly  one to be believable.
cerberus
definitely giant anaconda... gets my vote.as with some animals who live on land and in sea                                 (crabs, spiders and snakes) i would imagine it moved there for food and habitat.anyone heard of mokele mbembe?
Ronin6th
The giant Anaconda too!

Ronin6th (one of the rare guy who's seen the movie with Jenifer Lopez et Ice Cube!)
Kismit
I've gone for big foot although I've seen some anaconda trax on the t.v that wouldmake your hair curl, and of course I would love to see nessie be proven a reality just got a soft spot for that one.

I'm also an advocate of the anaconda  :s9

laurakay
i think that the big black cats get my vote as ive seen one
Invisigoth
I thin there's a real good chance that Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger) still exist.

And i'd bet that there are lots of unknown animals living in the jungles of Vietnam, Cambodia ect..........

This was actually a poll at one time, but the choices did not transfer from the older forum. It pretty much negates the usefullness of the thread, so I'm going to close it. A brief search of the crypto category will provide more recent polls for anyone to contribute their choice to. thumbsup.gif
