You know this thread is quite frightening. Bush could walk into a school full of children and shot them all, and the Bush followers would still defend him and try and find excuses, sounds stupid I know, but it would not surprise me if people did going on some peoples scary lack of ability to see the truth, psychologists should study some of the creepy things said here……

No I find it hard to understand how anyone could think Bush is anything other than a fool, because I was taught to always question things, my girl friend is American and she understands the unbelievable stupidity of Bush, so do most of her family, so does my family, and most people out side of America for that matter.
I know a lot about how the Bush supporters think, or don’t think should I say, so I find it easy to understand.

I guess they are one of the few families that don't have family members dying in thier hands; ask the people that where crammed into the skydome wht they think of Bush, or the people that now have life threatening illnesess due to contamminating water that they are drinking, they might have something to say about Bush, you are sking the wrong people...Start With Mayor Ray Nagin, see what he has to say...Now that guy should be president.

This is what I posted about the mayor earlier...

I saw an interview with New Orleans mayor this morning.. and the reporter was playing Devil's Advocat and asked the Mayor ... shouldn't he take some of the blame he is handing out.. since he was the one that was suppose to be relaying what was going on.. and what the situations were really like... and he could not give her a straight answer... was pretty funny ... after his cursing outburst in an interview last week where every other word he said had to be bleeped out... I believe I even saw a little egg on his face

This is becoming behond pathetic, people treat Bush as if he was some God capable of doing everything ...lol even Gigantic storms.
If there was such a massive cover-up YOU wouldnt know about it, and if you did YOU would ahve a n "accident" before you could open your mouth ... Good grief...

He has heart and compasion he has every right to get angry considering he has no authority to do anything but to ask his higher up's for help, all his men help the dying while no police could tend to the looting and rioting and no one would give him time or answers...I guess they had the phone off the hook for the first couple of days.. I almost think Bush & Co, reacted faster to the Asian Tsunami than his own countries devistation.

Really? Nagin declared martial law in New Orleans. The state of Louisiana has no such provision in its constitution. The guy doesn't even know the laws and provisions of his own city and state.
And you think he should be President?

If anyone dropped the ball it was the LOCAL authorithies, they knew KAtrina was coming and how hard it would hit before anyone else, they ahd plenty of time to prepare better ....

If we are going to go the "Blame" route... might as well blame Mayor Ray Nagin... afterall .. he did prompt a mandatory evacuation... in plenty of time.. and as I stated in an earlier post... you would think ... being Mayor... he would know how many poor, and/or elderly people lived in New Orleans.. and you would think he would have made preperations to get them out of the city...
As Larry pointed out in an earlier post, w/picture... all of those buses could have been used to get a majority of them out anyway.

Look. Here's the whole thing in a nutshell. They knew the levees couldn't withstand any hurricane over a category 3. They knew this for decades, but they did nothing to reinforce them. Over that span of time, hundreds of category 4 and 5 storms made their way across the Atlantic. It's not like these storms were myth.
I love my country with all my heart and would fight for her until I no longer had breath. But things need to be fixed. Everything from our infrastructure to our economy is based on short-term solutions when problems occur.
Nobody ever thinks about long term consequences. This is the main reason that Social Security is in the state that it is.

As we are know into our fifth day after the Hurricane, I feel we need to cut back on the topics aimed at Hurricane Katrina, it has been brought to my attention that several members are currently working there butts off with the relief effort, so I am leaving a link to Burnside's help the victims thread.
