Just wondering if anyone else iss having this problem also. It's been going on for me for 2 days now. Not complaining just curious.

I have never had a major problem. Occasionally every now and then the server will strain under the weight of so many members being online at the same time, which causes a slowdown for a couple minutes or maybe even a temporary 'Server is too Busy' message, but otherwise the forum is running top speed as usual.

I am currently looking into the server load issues experienced during peak time on the site, which are causing increased page loading times.
As Burnside said this is due to the amount of traffic we've been getting recently, but something will hopefully be in place soon to help allow for the increase in server demand. I'll post more about it soon.

Loading seems to change for me. Some days its done like that and other days it takes for ever.

I am seeming slow today as well, but it is everywhere. Maybe it's because of the hurricane.

I'm in the US. But I meant because of server overload.

I very often find that things take forever to load, or I can get the main index but I can't load one of the sub forums, or can't load the latest post in a particular forum, and I end up getting that infuriating 'Web site not responding : the web site you are looking for may be experiencing difficulties due to a busy or broken server' message. It also happens if I post something or if I send a PM, and it does gets slightly annoying.

This happens all the time; it's not a one-off or something that's only happened recently.

Just to keep everyone updated on this issue, I'm going to be implementing a number of upgrades to the server software starting this week, which will improve database efficiency and help to resolve the slowdown problems. If necessary, a further hardware upgrade may also be on the cards.
Again i'll post more about this at the time, my apologies to everyone who has been experiencing this problem, I hope to have it resolved soon.

Update
A new caching system has been added to the server to help reduce server load and improve page loading times.
Please let me know if you experience any problems following this update.

No problems here. Seems to be running a bit more smoothly, actually.

I am really not having problems loading any of the forums or viewing the topics, however everytime I try to do a search for a topic it never loads.
I type the description, hit search and it just stays on "loading" the whole time. Is anyone else experiencing this?

It's always taken a long time for me to use the search. Never less than a good 30-45 seconds, and depending on the search it'll take longer. It is a search, it's supposed to take awhile.

It shouldn't ever take longer than a minute though.

I have plans to enable the 'full text search' optimisation feature which will lower search times to a few seconds and also lower the server load from searches.
Trouble is, the process to index the database for this may take up to 10 hours straight, during which time the server will probably grind to a halt, which is why I have been reluctant to do it.
I'll see how it goes, further improvements are definately still on the way.

Holy crow... it may not be worth it, big guy. Nothing like 10 hours of fun in the Admin CP...

It's worth it if it improves performance enough to avoid another hardware upgrade.

I wouldn't need to spend 10 hours at it though, it would run on it's own without supervision once it had been started off.
