Hypothetical Planets.

There have been a number of objects that were once thought to exist by astronomers, but which later 'vanished'.

Here are their stories.

http://www.nineplanets.org/hypo.html#planetx

The spacecraft Pioneer 10 and 11 and Voyagers 1 and 2 had travelled outside the solar system, and could also be used as "probes" for unknown gravitational forces possibly from unknown planets -- nothing has been found.

The Voyagers also yielded more accurate masses for the outer planets -- when these updated masses were inserted in the numerical integrations of the solar system, the residuals in the positions of the outer planets finally disappeared.

It seems like the search for "Planet X" finally has come to an end.

There was no "Planet X" (Pluto doesn't really count), but instead an asteroid belt outside Neptune/Pluto was found!

what if planet x is actually a giant spaceship that alians use as a base so they can come to explore earth.............. just a suggestion

no, planet x has nothign to do with aliens your just trying to look for awhile to prove that there is a planet x when we have obviously shown that their evidence has holes in it and is false.

Let me give you a lesson in woo wooism.

Never look for the simplest, most obvious cause of something,(Occam's Razor).

Always favor the conspiracy angle over the boring angle.

Don't accept mainstream science unless it's something you've believed in for years (like gravity).

Use "what if" scenarios alot and mimic Richard Hoagland's style, you'll go far. thumbsup.gif

I've never heard that Planet X or Nibiru is going to be here in 2012.  I thought it was to return around the year 3000.

Scientist know that something large is out there affecting the outer planets gravity and orbit, but know not what it is.  They speculate it's a brown dwarf, but it could be a massive planet.

for some reason the word Nibiru sounds really familliar.

So Planet X is a planet that is nehind the sun now, but is going to orbit into the eartyh in 2012? Thats odd because the Mayan Calendars predict the apoclypse around 2012. Im sorry but i dont believe that there is a killer planet out there.

Planet X is UB2003 in MY opinion and other peoples opinions my friend I didn't say it was fact.  This amatuer astronomer probably found it, when in actuallity it was possibly already found but kept quite by the goverment. That explains why the story just stopped after this new guy found it. Paid off to keep quiet? Makes sense since this is a pretty massive discovery in the astronomy scientific community for the story to just kinda die out like this. MY OPINION remember not fact. Im open to debate and discussion not some moron who says"No your wrong because i dont beleive that". Keep in mind that the goverment isnt gonna tell us our days are numbered and that something is gonna slam into our planet and kill everyone in so and so amount of time. I didnt say that it will collapse into our planet, or any goverment stuff. And its not even possible for our planet to survive a collapse with a Jupiter sized planet.

extra extra Wooo wooo, read all about it, woo woo wooo, planet x, can de cloak, woo wooo. What did our astrologers record in our skies 3600 years ago. Certainly, o alien visitation except in the himalayas. I can see little evidence of ET landing recently. I just doubt that 3600 year cycle. Otherwise archeology would have more notification of that time period instead of stories of a similar event in the skies around 0BC. I suggest we have too little information

I was told Planet X is currently right in front of the Sun shrouded in a cloud of dust. ohmy.gif

It's like saying you can make your car completely invisible by throwing a tarp over it. So instead of seeing a planet silhouetted against the Sun, we see a big opaque dust cloud silhouetted against the Sun.
Like that won't draw attention.

Do you know how far away UB313 actually is? It's apx 97 AUs! An AU being about 93 million miles. That's pretty far away for us to be thinking that it's going to slam into us, isn't it? Also, it's not even remotely a "huge" planet . UB313 is somewhere between 2390 and 3550 km in diameter. This would make it approximately one and a half times the size of Pluto. Doesn't sound much like the descriptions I've heard of Nibiru/PX.

Your right Lilly, I think theres so many different theorys on the same thing that when people actually post them they contradict what other people have read on it even if they both think planet X is real. Ive heard its jupiter size, Ive heard its an asteroid, hell ive even heard its a spaceship! Basically im just forming my opinion from what ive read and seen and using my common sense to "picture" the truest form that it can be for me.

I am sick and tired of people saying planet x is true.

Let me put it in the most basic form.

Here it is, planet x never existed in the first place and will never exist, it is all money driven.

People come up will with these science fiction theories because they need money, that way they can sell thier books, cds, tapes, web sites, become famous.

There is simply no facts to even make it a theory.

Planet X is an absolute, ultamate, super Science Fiction of the 90's.

I think it is time to come up with a new absolute ultamete super science fiction theory such as the aliens are living among us and they will soon reveal themselves. grin2.gif

That is a quality that the woo woos dont have, common sense.
Based on my brief exposure to them, I'm thinking those Planet X people may be some of the most wacky of all the woo woos.

Anyone that actually believes in this,is way, way out there.

You remind me of the stories of those weird looking MIB operatives coming up to abductees and forcing people to believe that they did not see aliens and aliens do not exist. I am sure you are not MIB and you are simply in fear denial. Pull your head out of the sand. If you do not believe, why set up a topic to continue the discussion and express your fears?

I assume you have derived a seperate hypothesis to the followers of the Planet X idiom. You should place your findings here or I will continue to see you as normal skeptic. fearful of the unknown.

If Planet X is hiding somewere, its in the pseudo science peoples heads.

If we can keep tracks of over two thousand NEO varying from 5 meter to kilometer size astroides, they sure can find a planet four times the size of Earth heading our way.

It must be nice for all of you who definitely know all there is to know, it must be a comfort to have no questions because you already have all the answers. You take comfort in your superiority to the point that ypu feel ridicule and insulting mongrams are an adequate rebuttle to any argument. While it is apperent that some who do not believe are willing to discuss the subject in a rational manner with a frank exchange of opinions, it is also clear that some exist here simply to feel better about themselves and their own doubts. I see the same people trying to dehumanize people and their opinions with nonsense baby talk and sugestive animation. You seem to have a very low opinion of anyone who doesn't fall all over themselves agreeing with you, weird. For the most part those who believe are simply trying to make sense of something that is strange. I don't see ANY of them resort to calling people derogatory names or demoting their intellect, this seems to be the pervue of those born without the ability to see what is just beyond their sight.

Nice straw man you've constructed there. I haven't seen anyone here say that they "know all there is to know". But rather, what is being said is that there is no credible evidence for the existence of Nibiru/Planet X. This is, in fact, a rational approach to the subject.

The allusion to the invisible pink unicorn is a parody that highlights the illogical thinking used when invoking the supernatural. I think it applies nicely to imaginary planets as well.

Frankly, I have very little doubt that this Nibiru/Planet X stuff is anything but utter nonsense.

FYI they did find a planet a little smaller than pluto, and that discovery hepled them to postulate that there may be as many as six other planetoids undiscovered ranging in size from pluto to the new planet. I don't believe either, I just believe in their right to say it without being made fun of.

I've been researching as many major claims as I can for a while, and this was one that never passed the first hurdle. I had a long list of inconsitencies from Mark Hazelwood's writing and broadcasts, and basically he found it impossible to provide any evidence for any of it when pressed by anyone. It's basically a crock, and a very big one at that. Powdered gold may have had at least a shred of truth in it, as altering physical powers is a fairly valid concept, but Planet X is basically coming or not.
A few years after the original claim, though we're talking about it here, I am now unable to find the PlanetX2003 site any more, and thank goodness we hear very little about it on the media.

I will add on a natural but similar issue, the evidence for global warming is mainly either based on the future possibilities, or mistaken interpretation or investigation of data. Basically it hasn't happened in the way they want us to think, and as human activities account for less than 1% of the atmosphere then whatever may happen, we needn't worry about affecting it. Here's my evidence.
I only mentioned this as it shows how easy it is for people to promote these red herrings as truth if the governments of the world would want them to. And as PX is not in any government agenda, as are aliens and ufos equally unhelpful to them, they either vanish as never existed besides the hype, or are quietly swept under the carpet by authorities who hope people never get a look underneath it.

Basically the media can push any old crap and the truth is often the last consideration in pushing it. People are far better off looking for news here and similar places as we are free to tell the truth if we know it.

Speaking of believing in literally everything, some will say that they have a "feeling" that "whatever" just has to be true. Intuition might be useful in interpersonal relationships but it's useless when applied to issues such as planet X.

A very wise and intelligent man I know said, ""Am I appealing to intuition?? No; I am appealing to knowledge and experience."

A planet X? Hmm. I've never heard of that one before. Unless this object could travel at lightspeeds... Perhaps it is not a planet. Maybe rumors turned it into "a planet". what if this object is not a planet, nor space rock?

There is one major difference between the new KBO 2003 EL61 they found and the Zetas Planet X.

The first one exists and the other one don`t.

And another thing 2003 EL61 might be shaped like a cigar. laugh.gif
Can we allow a big cigar into the Planet Club?
A planet has to be round by it's own gravity, don`t you think.

I say whatever the definition is, it has to be primarily based on mass.
