So I got serious with my new partner, and she asked me to get tested. I never got tested in my life! So we did it because we plan a long term relationship, might as well go for it. Got the results today and clean on all the test.

So has anybody else got tested for any reason in a relationship?

But what I really want to ask is those already in a long term relationship like more then 5+ years do you still get tested? This does as undertones to it its also a question of trust.

STD's/STI's can travel in more ways then by sexual contact. So it is more an issue of safety and peace of mind rather then trust.

Very true, I stop walking barefoot on public beaches. But then again I don't hear many stories about getting an STD because of other accidental or incidental blood tranfusions

Whenever I encounter a really serious relationship in which I'm thinking of marriage I will want both I and my partner to get tested. You never know these days.

Actually i think men should be tested more than they do in general. Women get tested for all std's and stuff at least once a year once they become sexually active. I agree though if you are in a relationship with someone its just out of respect and piece of mind for both people to get tested.
