wow I'm starting to think japan has better tech than the US
BurnSide
Starting too? Where have you been the last 30 years haha.
Japan has MUCH better technology than the US. HOWEVER, it's through a long process of taking old things and constantly updating it and working with it. A cell phone, for example. Make them smaller and smaller and fit more and more gadgets into it. High tech, but in a different sense.

good ones, i want a robo-maid... NEVER CLEAN MY ROOM AGAIN!!!

go to www.beyond2000.com or www.beyondtommorow.com for some cool high tech stuff.

here is a few

The 3D Book

Synopsis:
The computer and real world are seamlessly merged to provide a surreal experience with the 3D Story Book. The technology, called augmented reality, can be used in a multitude of applications, including gaming. But developers at Hitlab in New Zealand have focused on education and in particular kids. Anna experiences this amazing and fun technology that has produced pop-up books that move and solar systems that float in front your eyes. Reading to the kids will never be the same again.

Future School

Synopsis:
Graham goes back to school, and he’s going to learn a new thing or two. Instead of banning technology, Duke University makes it compulsory. Every student is handed a free ipod on day one, and must use it in class. They also are given a ‘Personal Response System’ - a remote controller used to assess a class’s progress during lectures. Duke University is running a number of initiatives where faculty and students are called on to better integrate technology in the classroom.

They also use there ipods to record classes and put them on the ipod for review.

Video Goggles

Synopsis:
Rowing at any level is a gruelling sport and for an Olympic team, any advantage they can get to improve their technique could mean the difference between a gold medal and going home with nothing.

Dr Clara Soper from Auckland University of Technology has found a way to help with the rowers training, with a clever marriage of video technology and virtual reality. She’s developed a pair of Video goggles that lets rowers see exactly what they are doing and allows them to immediately adjust their technique.

A transmitter on the camera sends a video signal back to the goggles while an earpiece worn by the rower allows instructions to be transmitted straight from the coach. Anna tests her skills to see if the system can turn her into an Olympic rower.
