" A man who reported a safe stolen from his home a month ago may face charges after police found the safe-with almost a pound of marijuana inside.

The Bark River man told Delta County sheriff's deputies last month that someone broke into his home Aug. ( and took the 200-pound safe, which contained a rifle, muzzleloader, two knives, a rangefinder and a collection of silver dollars.

Deputies recovered the safe early Wednesday morning after receiving a tip, Detective Lt. Mike Gierke told the daily press of Esccanaba. The safe was still locked, and when deputies called the owner to open it, they discovered the items he described, along with the marijuana and $500 in cash."

Now it I had a safe with a pound of Marijuana in it, I would probably want it back too, but what was he thinking.?

Some people`s level of stupidity just amazes me. Although maybe this guy wanted to be caught? That cant be ruled out just yet.

had a 250 lbs safe bolted to my floor, in a very visible spot. Kept it empty.

Got robbed, they went through a LOT of work to get that safe out. Bet they took Days getting it open. My other safe is very secretly hidden.

I just wish I had seen the look on their faces when they finally got that thing open, the jerks.

it was his safe though. It wasn't opened, he knew the combination, if his prints were on that they could get him with something even something small. if his prints aren't on the bag then he's got no worries. It could've been placed by someone else but what are the odds someone would know the combination?
