This is just a possible outcome, in my view, and only mine of course, of what human space exploration just might be...I assume a global economy that allows world-class undertaking of exploration projects, which I think, as my own critique, might be a very stupid hope!!! Science definitely progresses during global conflict, and the next one might very well be the last.
Anyway, suppose fragile Mankind, following untold numbers of eons of evolution of Science and, more importantly, of high-energy engineering applications and its impacts on astronautical transportation, finally breaks loose with the home planet, spaceship earth. After decennies/centuries of travel (probably no going around general relativity for a LONG time) , what will happen to those first explorers? Maybee some will disapear or miss their goal to vanish in the depths of space...probably hard to engineering devices with 100% reliability for 1000 years!!!
Finally, hesitantly, humans will set foot on foreign worlds, deploying advanced transmiters (neutrino communication...???) to become effectively the first human dude to chart the galaxy.
Imagine the world-wide explosion of interest when this is achieve!!! Can you imagine?
On the other side, what an excitment for our intrepid explorers (or more likely their great-great-great.....great-grand children) to finally be able to, for the first time, study fundamentally different life-forms and evolutionary processes....what a wonder... everyone knew when we did the little hop to the moon...what about interstellar travel..???
It seems to me that aliens visiting us would study us, like we would study them, probably trying to replenish their reserves and energy at their destination, and certainly letting themselves be seen and known, cautiously but surely...the most important discovery of all time man...!!!!
I doubt they would "abduct" normal humans, even less cattle!!! what would they know about science...??? Far away from home, those visitors would have to be nice...can't decide to leave or wage a war after 500 years of travelling through empty space but for one mission: contact and/or exploration. All those "sightings" seem so unlikely to me... they reflect unconscious desires of sort probably...my aunt claims that she has been abducted many times, why would anybody want to do that...?
It's too unlikely: we would know if they had been here.
Also, the Fermi paradox seems to forbid intelligent life else then us, but then maybe space travel is just too overwhelming to undertake...who knows???
what do you guys think...???
