I love stuff like the series Taken, Signs (but maybe a little more scarier), The Arrival, etc. Does anyone know of some real good movies or shows about aliens/UFO's? Maybe some underground stuff that I've never heard of? alien.gif TY

Well, I dont know if you would find this movie freaky, but I did because its a true story. Its an older movie called "fire in the sky" Have you seen that one?

"Mac and Me" is the most terrifying alien movie ever created. No, I jest.

Have you ever seen "Communion"? You might find that kind of scary. It's a highly bizarre movie based on the Whitley Strieber book of the same name. Then there's "Invasion of The Body Snatchers". The remake is pretty freaky (I haven't really seen the original).

I assume you've seen "Close Encounters of The Third Kind". There's also "Flight of The Navigator, which isn't scary at all and is a kids' movie, but I like it.

I will reccomend "Contact" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"

"Mac and Me" was a silly movie and I kind of thought it was a copy of "E.T.", but I liked it.

Species is a very good one. There are three (I believe)

All my favorites are already mentioned, but I'll post to back them up. happy.gif

* Signs
* Contact
* Fire in the Sky
* The Arrival

I've always wanted to check out Communion too...

definately 'communion' and 'fire in the sky'.

those are really good. and as far as tv, i think the best alien tv series was 'alien nation'. i thought that was really original. there was a movie of the same name from which it was based, but i liked the tv characters better.

Weird_Al_Wonnabe
Aliens, Alien Vs. Predator, Pretator I and II, and signs.

Those are ace films.

yes.gif The UFO incident(Betty and Barney Hill encounter) was quite good too.
The Day the Earth stood still is a classic but my all time favourite has gotta be E.T! alien.gif original.gif
Weird_Al_Wonnabe
E.T use to scare me passifier.gif But somemore good ones are the new, and old, version of war of the worlds
DemonWatcher
Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy, the one that was released lately on DVD and VHS.
TV, Babylon 5, Stargate series, Battlestar Galactica, both old and new.
The original Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the whole Aliens collection, Galaxy Quest, any Star Trek movie,
so many i can't remember them all.

Google it man.

Hire 'Mac and Me' just for the McDonalds dance scene. So random and corny and the blatant advertising is hilarious.

Anyone remember the War of the Worlds T.V series? The episode about the alien newborn baby scared the crap out of me when I was young. The part where the doctor's thumb got ripped of by the baby gave me nightmares. Thats really the only episode I can remember very well either, but I think it's because it's the only one that ever really scared me.

Plan 9 from outer space. No! Not really! It's horrible. However it is featured in the video game, Destroy all Humans, which is a great game.

thumbsup.gif One of the best of all times would have to be (Close Encounters of the Third Kind)
the extended version, then of course there's Men in Black which is a good alien comedy,(War of the Worlds) was good but not that great to me, (Alien) was good but a bit gory, (Predator) the first one with arnie in it was good,(Invasion of the Body Snatchers) was good, and one of my all time Favorite's ( THE THING) thumbsup.gif

Let's not forget Earth Vs The Flying Saucers, classic B&W Sci-fi with great Harryhausen effects.

Anyone remember Milennium? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...983265?v=glance

Weird movie... but I really enjoyed it.

The Thing from Another World (1951)
The Thing (1982)

Both movies are based on the same story, however they are comppletely different.
In the first the monster is simply a plant-like creature that goes around like Frankenstein's monster, and is electrocuted near the end of the film. The second has the creature shape-shifting and there is much more gore in the later version. I tend to like the older, campy monster movies, so I have more fun watching the 1951 version.

This Island Earth(1955) (I loved when they did this for the MST3K movie)
The Angry Red Planet (1960)
Paranoid Android
Most of the ones I like have already been mentioned -

Alien quadrilogy
Predator 1
The Thing
Galaxy Quest
Forbidden Planet

Also, Independence Day

Teenagers From Outer Space is also a feature in Destroy All Humans. It's a movie about these aliens that vaporize people and only one alien is a good one, but he dies at the end. It is in the B-movie theater in Destroy All Humans and is only avalible if you beat the game.
