Edit: Should be 'And shes buying a stairway to heaven', not 'And she buying a stairway to heaven'.
Backmasking; intentional or not?
Backmasking - v., the process of reversing speech or sounds to produce new speeches or sounds, usually sanatic.
In other words, ya play a song/speech backwards and *taa daa*, a new song/speech appears.
It's fairly easy to find these on the internet.
The most commen and popular form of backmasking is the song Stairway to Heaven, by Led Zeppelin. It's supposed to contain messages that have to do with Satan when played backwards.
Also, the song Another One Bites The Dust, by Queen (John Deacon, specifically, bass), is supposed to say 'I wanna smoke marijuana' when played backwards.
Do you think these people put these messages in there on purpose or a complete coinsidence?
One song by Pink Floyd called Empty Spaces is, forward, complete 'gibberish', that makes no sense at all. When played backwards, it says 'Congratulations, you found the secret message', ect.

Some artists admit to backmasking. I've heard that "Stairway to Heaven". Creepy stuff.

Fast reply!

Also, Imagine, by John Lennon, played backwards (at the 'Imagine all the people' part) is said to say 'The people war beside me'.

Their are tons of songs that have some backmasking, intentional or not. Alot of them are on a website. I forgot its name though. I'll try and find it.

I'm currently at work experience at a sound, lighting and DJ equipment shop. A few minutes ago, I brought by Led Zeppelin CD and played 'Stairway To Heaven' backwards on the CD Mixer. I did not hear anything about 'Satan' or 'Devils'. All I heard was gibberish.
I reckon that whole conspiracy with Stairway To Heaven is total rubbish. It was probably made up by some bible thumper who had nothing else to do but try and deface rock 'n roll.

I heard the Zeppelin one, a little creept but I'm still not really convinced that it was deliberate. When he says "Sweet, sad satan", he says 'sad' in a Southern (as in American) accent. Led Zeppelin are British and Robert Plant sings in a British accent.
The Yoko Ono one is funny though. Didn't that crazy guy in jail shoot John Lennon? Yoko Ono couldn't have done that backmasking deliberately.
The Queen one doesn't even sound like "I like to smoke marijuana"

I think the backmasking in Stairway to Heaven was intentional, the whole verse talks about satan-- not just a line. I was actually able to download the whole reversed song, very interesting needless to say. Also very creepy. I have always found the song to be depressing, even before hearing the backmasking... just gave me weird vibes so to speak.
Oh I do believe that the Queen one says, "it's fun to smoke marijuana" instead of "I like to smoke marijuana."
