They are getting things moving, opening up the entire expressway--one way! And the hurricane has dropped to a 4.

Hell... America's 4th largest city being abandoned, watching the news reports is like watching a disaster movie, the difference being, this is actually for real and this is the only the start of Hurricane season.
Take care to all those effected by this.

The hotels are booked solid in my town. Plane traffic like I've never seen here. I'm in West Texas, so it's totally going to miss us much to our dismay. We need the water only a hurricane can bring.

Yes lostchild, even though it has dropped to cat 4, Katrina was cat 4. I hope the hotels are not banging up their prices to gain financially from this ?

Looks like Rita should only be CAT 3 on landfall. But the main danger comes from the storm surge. Oh, and New Orleans looks like getting a bit damp too.....

Grrr...I remember read a post where someone said (before this new hurricane formed) Their's going to be another big one to which they were right. Also I had a dream of hearing "The family moves out of the city, awed" to which I just heard on T.V.

"watching the news reports is like watching a disaster film"...I don't think I will ever forget this statement. It is true.

We've had reports from Beaumont (anyone with Sky News may have seen my friend Stu earlier this morning

) that there have been explosions in the direct of Port Arthur - sounds like some of the oil refineries may have gone
