Not to be mean, but there are a number of threads on this very subject, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, as well as Possession. Using the Search feature on the forum can help track these down.

exorcism its sure truth...how can it be a kind of myth??its not only emily rose who was possesed......there many people in history who were possesed and get help of exorcism...............................but nowadays...the people dont believe in it....when they see a possesed person they think that he is lunnatic and the only thing they do is to locked him in a psychiatric clinic.....

there is a kind of psychotic illness...which has the same symptoms as possesed people have.......i believe its the same...just the psychiatrics dont want to admit it........ no.gif

This film indicates that the difference between insanity and actual possesion is really fine. No spinning heads and floating over beds to help you point fingers. I think its about time we got hollywood out of that occurance.

I believe in it whole-heatedly! But the Catholics?

I'm sorry, but "The power of Christ compels you!"

Not sure how that would work! What if they (demon/spirit/whatever) don't want to listen to Christ?

It works because they have to listen to Christ. Christ is the Lord, whether or not the Demon reconizes Jesus as it's Lord matters not, he is. It's like saying your father is not your dad, doesn't matter what you say, the fact remains, he is. No demon could withstand Christs commands.
