i am usually a very lucid dreamer. but when having a lucid dream i find that i can control everything. i can make people do something, i can do anything that i want to do. it's almost like being god. i'm just wondering if anyone here can do this with there dreams? i've asked friends and they say they can only control themselves.

oh yeah, and it sucks when you wake up and realize you can't fly to work and shoot lazers out of your eye balls comic book style and burn down the place.

i hate reality lol.

Well I remember a lot of my dreams.

Oddly enough, I had a lucid dream yesterday... I couldn't do everything but I could move around the place. I don't remember a lot of my dreams and some days I wonder even if I had any. tongue.gif The ones I do remember are generally bad for some reason though. ph34r.gif

I've only had a few lucid dreams, three or four. Though honestly, they were more semi-lucid than lucid. I could control myself, and influence what I'd find, but I couldn't control others and make stuff appear out of thin air. I also accidently woke myself from one. Boy was I pissed at that.

i had a dream, it was like the sims, only if i touched someone, they blew up. but i had full control

I dabble some in Dream Interpretation. I find it highly unlikely that you went for years without dreaming. When your body enters REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement), you will dream. Without dreaming you would literally lose your mind. It is possible that something within your mind could be blocking your conscious ability to tap into the unconscious portion of your mind. Your dreams can highly affect they way you live and operate. Controlling these dreams of yours will prove to be quite a challenge!

it's fun when you can control everything, i like to make people slap themselves or others whenever somebody says the word "the" in my dream. levitating and dropping people is fun to.

The jelly in the legs feeling is caused by you trying to move your legs but since during sleep your whole body is paralyzed you can't move them. Thats what that feeling is. I experience it all the time, especially when people are shooting at me original.gif

Hey guys, sup?
I just registered here at UM but i have been a huge "spectator" of all of the posts here on this forum and others and i decided that this was the topic that would finally make my lazy azz register....

Now to the point. Apparently Lucid Dreams are somewhat rare to a lot of you guys? Well, to me, not having a Lucid Dream is rare. I always (give or take 2 times a month) have dreams that i am totally in control of. Are any of you also like this, or am i just as my name suggests (which i have beleived for some time now, lol).

and also i can always fly (still talkin about dreams yes.gif) , but sometimes when i try to fly away from people chasing me, it's almost like a start to lose the flying energy, and they grab me by my feet... strange...

anyway input on this would be great thumbsup.gif

PEACE

hey, welcome first of all. i, like you have total control, but if someone is chasing me, i don't lose energy or anything. i just go all kung fu on them. the other night, while dreaming, i was being chased by a cop. he ran past a wall that i turned into rubber, chucked a can of cream corn at him, he ducked, and then it bounced off the wall and hit him in the back of the head. and this happened strictly because i made it happen. i never have problems though with people trying to chase me or take my energy, unless i allow it to happen.

i don't know exactly how it starts, but as my dream begins, i realize that i am dreaming, and that i can do whatever i want to do, so i do it.

Hey SoL.,
That's pretty cool, i don't even think to do anything like that in my dreams. i usually just fly, or when i jumb, i hover a few feet over the ground for as long as i want. I gotta try some of these things, i'll probably sleep for like 13 hours cause i'll have so much fun and not want to wake up!!!

Thanx for the welcome, PEACE

Why waste a dream on flying when you can be dreaming of Angelina Jolie? huh.gif
Mr Ed
I am having a lot of trouble believing that anyone can actually fully control their dreams, in the sense that they can change scene and setting, and get different people to appear and interact with them.

Hi Mind Freak,

With no disrespect, if you are 'totally in control of your dreams', how would you lose the "flying energy"? And if someone was pulling you back down, - knowing you have this "control" - couldn't you control them to let go of you? (or does this come under the "give or take 2 times a month" where you DON'T have control?).

I'm just asking. I'm trying to understand your limits. original.gif
Guardsman Bass
Personally, I have only one possible "lucid" experience with dreams, and that was when I realized I was dreaming. However, that was at basically the end of my dreaming, so I may have simply been on the verge of waking up.

Other than that, the dreams I remember usually take shape when something (like an idea, or memory) seems to enter my mind, then becomes real. I basically have no control over it.

I'm the same - I only have some control when I realise I'm dreaming, usually when I notice that I've had this dream before.

hey tornado,

yeah that mostly falls into the catagory of when i'm not in control, once in a while i will be in control one minute, and the next i can't do anything but follow as everything else goes on... these are usually the ones i cant remember...

Cant really figure out how people can actually control their dreams, but i have realized a few times that i am dreaming only in bad dreams and i want to wake up in the dream and then i just wake up after thinking of it in the dream.

Your mind works wonderous things, but only if you believe it is possible.
If you believe that you are limited in this body, you will be.
What precisely do you think dreams are?
Dreams for me, take me to another level of consciousness, just as death will take me to another level of consciousness, that you love to call heaven.
I "leave" my body every night, only to return to this level of consciousness when I awake.
So, if this is true, which level of consciousness is the real one?
In dream state, you can go anywhere and do anything your mind desires, but here you are limited to only your 5 senses, and the 3 dimensional realm.
If you truly want to know about dreams, and learn to awaken, or become cognizant that you are dreaming it takes dedication and practice.
Walk the walk or talk the good talk.
The choice is yours. innocent.gif

LOVE TO ESCAPE!!!!!!!!!!

The weirdest dream happened at my old apartment
I dreamed of the a man all in black pointing at me to come to him
then the dream switched and it was my Husband & I in gold coffins, everyone was at the church 100's of people. I awoke in fear screaming, I decided to go pee and to our suprise
the oven knob was turned on leaking (Very Old Oven) carbon minoxide it was feeling up half our house, We had trouble breathing, We aired it all out if we waited 4 more hours I know we would be dead, was I predicting a possible death? was the guy in black the grim reaper? I had to pinch myself to make sure I was not already dead, yikes that freakin was the weirdest sh**!!!

Sorry, had to share that since we were talking about dreams
damn dreams are crazy ohmy.gif

Most my dreams are pretty lucid. I have one truly lucid dream a night on average. Most my dreams involve appocolyptic situations, randomness or truely strange. The truely strange dreams are more like movies that I have no choice but to watch. I'm not in these dreams but more of an omniciant presance with unlimited perspectives. They can be quite beautiful at times and truely scary/morbib. These are my favorite dreams.

Hey SoLLiZ,I can't seem to change the setting in my Lucid Dreams but I can do just about everything else though. If you could post how you change the enviroment I would really be interested to learn how to do this.Oh and another thing are you able to pass through walls, cause I still have to use the door to move from one room in a building to the next.

And reality does suck compare to the freedom of the dream world thumbsup.gif
Mr Walker
After a few weeks on UM I am finding the threads on dreaming the most fascinating. As I have some time in the computer class with my yr 9's I thought i might respond to a couple of the posts above. Walking through walls is easy, like flying. Belief, no knowing you can do it, is the most imt. thing. I learnt both techniques as a young child. and in both cases it was a learning experience. although mastering three or four methods of flying took longer than going through walls. For walls my method is this. Approach the wall slowly. Believe that you can meld your molecules with that of the wall( maybe watching scotty beam up all those trekkers had something to do with this technique) Place your finger tips gently on the wall and push your hand gently but firmly in. Focus on what you are doing (it helps if you are lucid dreaming but this is not essential) If you are succesful, withdraw your hand before it goes in too far, and repeat. It should get easier with practice and over time. It is no good rushing it. At first only go through thin walls, where you can see out each side as you pass through. Be careful once you put your head into a thick wall or use this technique to travel underground or through rock. I found it disorienting once my head was right in the wall. You must keep consciously headed in the same direction or you can get lost, especially if your sense of direction is not good. There doesn't seem to be any danger in getting lost, you pop out eventually, but it can be a bit disconcerting and embarrasing.

In regard to lucid dreaming, one interesting experience i had as a young child was this. For many years I had nightly lucid dreams in a world I had created. You entered this via a trap door in our backyard. It was underground, but contained many realms, giant caverns with forests, lakes, waterfalls, the lot. There were also mazes, tunnels, gateways, portals ,connecting the realms, some of which took me offworld. The inhabitants, other than I, were all intelligent animals(remember i was less than 10 years old) They spoke and wore costumes appropriate to their roles. As with many children this world was as real as my day world and life was as continuous there as above ground. One of the rules of this world was that I could never tell any one about it. One day at school i broke this rule and told some classmates about the realms. That night I was confronted by a squad of leather armoured Rabbits(dont laugh) armed with cross bows. They reminded me that the punishment for telling others was death, and proceeded to shoot me full of arrows. Of course i laughed at them and pointed out that this was not only just a dream but my dream world and they couldn't hurt me. Then they did something much worse. They informed me that while i was correct, the other inhabitants of the realm had the right to cut me off and that i would never be able to dream about the realms again. The scary thing is they were absolutely correct. Whether it was my guilty conscience from telling about the dreams, or a sub conscious belief that I was growing too old for these dreams, i was never able to dream of the realms again. Luckilly, lots of other exciting worlds awaited.
Many years later these dreams helped me write Dungeon and Dragon modules for my adult family and friends to play.

I can always control my dreams.
Kesenai Tsumi
I can control myself in the dream, or whoever i am in the dream(sometimes i'm another person... ph34r.gif). I rarely actualy realize i'm in a dream, but when i do, i usualy end up waking myself up. dontgetit.gif
Silent_One
I'd say all my dreams are pretty lucid. I usually remember them all, unless something exciting happens right after I wake up, then I usually forget what I dreamt about.
They are all in color and look just like real life. I'd say just about all of my dreams (and my boyfriend would agree) are really weird.
Every now and then I do take control of my dreams and fly around or beat someone up, that I despise in real life, that I caused to appear or make other people do weird things. Yeah, that kind of stuff...

Next time I take control of a dream, I think I'm going to try shooting lasers from my eyes. Sounds fun yes.gif
Sublime
I am able to control my movements and actions during various dreams, but when i try to change something, i wake up. i cant wait until i can do this every time, sounds so fun. laugh.gif
