I just woke up about 20 minutes ago and was having this dream, and while dreaming it was almost like it was another life of the same me. I actually had a past in the dream, it's hard to explain but I could remember a particular place like a place I lived(in the dream) and I knew my way around almost like I lived there and have this feeling in the back of my mind that says Ive been there many times before and even while im awake now I realize I have been there.(But I havent been there in my awake life if that makes sense) It's hard to explain but I feel I knew of this place in a distant memory from a way long time ago that when I had this dream I just re-rembered it like I forgot but was reminded. Anyone else experience this? Also in these dreams it feels like life is great, like it's a better place than im living in while awake to the point I actually wish my dreams were really real. It's weird but it feels like im much happeir in the dream scenarios than in real life.

It sounds like a past life recall. Some people dream of being other people in the past with lives completely separate of their own.

I have had that occur a few times, and in my case it was very realistic; rather stunning details and emotions.

I don't know if past lifes are real or not, but I definately felt like I was in another time. Of course I was dreaming, so who knows what was going on...

I have dreams like this all the time. I just pass them off as dreams.

I have had a few dreams that felt more real than being awake, and each time i wonder, is this like The Matrix

^ i actually do wonder about that sometimes.
it often feels as if this is nothing more than some kind of dream... parts of it good and parts of it bad. there are just too many unanswered and odd things... it seems so surreal, i guess.

Are you suggesting that there is a greater purpose for basic human ignorance?

Ever since I was first aware of existing in this life, from around the age of 2 or 3, I have had memories of having lived other lives! One or two people I know in this lifetime, I have known in others. My Mom say's that she was decidedly unnerved by my utterances.

I guess it must be possible to dream of past lives! I mean, if one can dream of events that have occured in this life, why not in others?

Hi QuantumE

Maybe your not remembering the past maybe you are seeing happier times to come in the future?

There is this movie called "The Cell" with J-Lo, where she wakes up 'inside' the dream in the same place where she went to sleep.
I can familiarize with that, but I seem to have experiences in 'other' people in similair places than where I live. Ive had dreams of places where I used to live as well....

Not Long ago I watch a Documentary on Past lives and those who have experienced them. There was one guy in particular who had experienced a passed life in a dream to such a dramatic and detailed extent that in his waking life he went about researching it to see if the "dream" was indeed factual. Turns out it was he even wound up getting a Jewish temple to help him do some of the research since in the past life he was jewish. In the dream of his past life he had names and some dates as well as a strong image of an old clock that in the past life had meant a great deal to him. The Jewish temple helped him find the clock which was in an antique shop somewhere and since it was so pricey and out of his price range they purchased the clock for him. It now sits in his living room.

Just thought I'd share that with you. Food for thought on dreams and past lives. original.gif

That's neat! ^

I know what you mean. I've had dreams like this myself. The most vivid was very brief but I was on a mountain leading a goat that was pulling a little cart. I had the feeling we were going to a town set down at the base of the mountain. I came around an outcropping of stone into a pass that led down the mountain and looked out across one of the most beautiful vistas I have ever seen. I was looking across a broad valley planted with fields and little tiny houses and villages to another mountain range that rose all purpley-blue in the distance. It felt utterly familiar, but so far as I know I've never been anywhere like that in my life.

There's also a possibility that these things are genetic memories of our ancestors that got passed down to us with our dna. Some scientists think that genetic memory is the best explanation for things like idiot savants.

Another sort of dream I've had is really creepy ones set on this broad brown expanse of land where the air is cool and a bit sharp. It always seems a menacing place in my dreams. A few months ago I found pictures of a landscape that looks like that. It was a bog in Northern Europe. I was researching bog bodies and -- brace yourselves for the creepy part -- I realized that some of the bodies have the same shape of forehead and eyebrows that I inherited from my dad. I'm not saying I'm related to the bog bodies or anything, only that some of my ancestors came from that part of the world and the dreams, the bog and the familiar faces added up to an unsettling and provocative picture.

When i was little i had such a dream. But i hade that dream for 4 weeks and it felt REALLY real.

The dream was about a boy trapped. For something he had done? For something his famely had done? Im not really sure. I remember me running around in a cave. not like a cave actualy more like a maze. And as i were running i kept screaming something i cant remember. I could feel the boys fear and anger. I wanted out. I wanted away. Why where i here? WHY? WHY? Why cant i find a way home? But trapped as i was i found dead-ends everywhere until it caught up with me. I had the same dream over and over again. But the boy always chosed different paths. The boy did how ever never find a way out. And the dreams stopped.

I never told anyone about having this nightmare. But i never woke up screaming, as i already knew it wasnt me that was running.

hey all im new here. first post. i find it intersesting when its said that a strong attraction to some time period maybe an indicator of a past life. I have an odd attraction to Great Britian, and the British Military arround the Colonial times, and even way before that, in Britains long history of fighting France. I am a Soldier in the US Army right now, im facinated with the military, and love serving in it. i wounder if maybe i was from England in a past life, considering if they even exist.
