I simply love it. Final Fantasy 11 is coming out in 2004 for all you fans out there. Possibly the best MMORPG out there.

Dude you know as well as i that final fantasy VII was the best, doesn't matter whether they bring out FF al the way to number 40,000 it still won't knock the true king of FF off its throne, HAIL SEPHIROTH!!!! lol

p.s. FFVI was also good jus loved their poppy out eyes they had.

Final Fantasy 2 (Or V, I guess) was the greatest game ever made. I mean, was there a better moment then when FoSoYa joins your party, and you can cast Meteo? Or when Edward is attacked by the water hag? Or when you get the imp summon spell? Or Odin? That was such a great game!!!!!!

Sukato, my dear friend FFVII has to be the best for the following reason,
1. Storyline, the intricate plot twists and weird love triangle between cloud, tifa, and aeris
2. Sephiroth, nuff' said
3. You get to breed and race chocobos!!!!
4. The endless mini games (loved the snowboard one)
5. The masses and masses of secrets that it had (i still haven't completed it yet and i have had the game 3 years)
6. The satisfaction of whupping sephis ass in the end
7. All those characters and break limit moves to chooses from
8. All that magic!!!!
9. lovely cinematic scenes
10. possibly the best game music out of all of the series.
Bwhahahahaahahaha ^_~V..

Bloodangel, I'd probably agree with you, but I never played FFVII. And I think FFXI is the best because it's multiplayer. Also, I do think Sephiroth is cool because you get to fight him in the game Kingdom Hearts.

I like all of the series, my favourites are FFVII and FFVIII.

Blood Angel, you make a very compelling argument. Add to that Tifa's rack, and you have the greatest game ever made. I'll compromise and say that FF2 was the greatest SNES game.

yep FF VII was the best for sure!!! I am actually playing it again now! I've got only 2 battles left, Ruby Weapon, and the very last fight!!! I've got all the Materia, 3 master magic, and 2 master command materia's... (I have enough mastered summons for the master summons, but i want to have a few extra mastered Phoenix materia before i blend them) most of my guys are at level 99, and everyone has their level 4 limit, except aries (she died before i could give it to her)
long live Final Fantasy 7 !!!

The only part about that game that bugged me was the fact that I would skip limit breaks, and I had no idea why. I think Cid was the main problem. I never got the dragon limit break for him, it just skipped to the next one. The same thing happened with RedXIII.

Aug 7 2003, 08:44 PM
Personally i played the whole game with only the same three characters, cloud, tifa, and vincent. when i played it the second time i found yuffie before i got to costa del sol, so i played with her instead of vincent, yuffie with the conformer and morph materia made her almost invincible, that with tifa and all here limit breaks, and cloud trumped up with as many summon as i could squeeze in, which made the end battle with sephi a pushover, but i still haven't beaten the emerald weapon, or found knights of the round.
Nethius
Aug 8 2003, 12:09 PM
Sukato-San you gotta make sure you get both limits in a specific level, then set your limit to the next level... if you set the limit to say level 3 before you have both limits for level 2, you'll never get both limits for level 2.... make sense?
Blood Angel you need a gold chocobo to get Knights of the Round, it's at the very top right of the map, in a cave. The Emerald Weapon isn't too hard, if you have knights of the Round. Just grow 3 Mime Materia, stick KOTR on someone, (double summon helps a lot!) then keep on using Mime to hit him with double KOTR till he dies, and of course the more Final Attack / Phoenix Materia combo's you have the better! If you wanna try without KOTR, using Quad Magic paired with Ultima may do the trick!

Aug 8 2003, 12:37 PM
yeah i know but when your at the end before the big fight with sephi and you forget to breed chocobos from the beginning theres not much you can do while waiting...but yeah i knew it was up there but i just didn't have the gold chocobo.
quad with ultima is rather crap its not strong enough, but i almost got him by having all my characters with all materia slots with hp plus and cure, one curing while the other two hack him to death with weapons but once he killed the curer i got slammed...

Your use of the adverb 'here' is unwarranted, BA, since Al is in the same place as you, largely speaking. That place being Britain, and I would hazard a guess England. That funny red cross under Al's avatar is actually the english flag. As your avatar sits atop the british flag I can only assume that you occupy the same island at the very least.

FFV11 was great but you have to admit FFV111 is the better of the two
the story line the grafic's. I admit FF111 was easy to master but it was fly man fly.

OH what the hell their all good.

Hmmmm, Blood Angel...
Did you try downloading it from Kazaa? It's been released in DVD over here all ready... But, honestly, as a HUGE fan of the series, it wasn't as good as I had hoped. Still 1000 times better than anything made in the States, but not as good as the series. My favorite part was the credits. No, seriously. That song is amazing.

Still... I love FF2. Played it the other day on the comp... Classic! I always liked cloning excalibur and having Edge dart that crap at everything that moved... Made the fight against the trick wall... And against the cpu of the Giant of Babel... Then throw the Meteo at it! Sweeeeeeeeeet!
And the Spoon! The frikkin' spoon!

That was the coolest side-quest ever!

Siphis, are you still playing? If you are, I can tell you how to get there. Just follow the Galbadian continent to a peninsula that's near Deling City and you'll see a temple. Not sure if it's marked on the map, though.

Cool! A thread about Final Fantasy! Itīs kind of gone off the subject, but that happens all the time...
Iīve played FF VI, VII, VIII, IX, and a demo of ten, and soor, BA, but FF8 is the best FF game that has ever been done. have yet not had the chanse to finish it, but I love it! FF7 comes second, together with 9, because of their amazing stories, and loads of characters.
Would stay and talk more about it, but I got to go to school.

Has any one else played? As with most online games, it is quite addictive!

I would have loved to get it...but the server fees made me want to run and hide. Interestingly enough though, that's why I bought Neverwinter Nights instead...so I'm happy
FFXI does look amazing though...If it didn't have server fees, I would have been fighting epic battles and losing many friends to get a copy on the release date.

Exactly me too Sera. When I heard that FFXI's online play,I was like insane and searching for the release date but when the subscription price came to me notice.....wooh,let's just forget about XI,I'm going back to Tactics.
Anyway heard that the release date for FFX-2 has been pulled back.Is it only in the US or both Europe??Anyone?

Well....you see,I'm already having some troubles in getting a game, let alone needing to pay just to play that very game I just bought.Because you see......I don't earn an income....yet

So it's pretty much the budget-fixing thing if you know what I mean.

Nov 5 2003, 02:08 PM
I think it's also because the moment you introduce server fees, you're slicing in half the number of people that would buy it. If Squarsoft had just marketed the game normally, and paid for the server fees themselves, they would have made so much profit that server fees wouldn't have been needed.
Instead, the game flopped compaired to the other FF games.
There are many, many enjoyable games that are played primaraly online, such as *plug*Neverwinter Nights*plug* that don't charge server fees, meaning the user just pays for the retail price, and that's it.
In Squaresoft had done this too, then they probably would have found their profit margins on the online game a great deal higher than they were.

of course there are...I was thinking more along the lines of PSO, which although the dreamcast version has been shut down, the recent Gamecube version is still going strong...
I think FFXI will soon become popular in the U.S. because it has been much anticipated and there are still people out there who dont mind paying the fees, thats all...
but I completely understand what you both have said Seraphina and Engulf. Having a server fee does lower the popularity for those reasons which you have both mentioned.
Its still a cool game nonetheless

EDIT: btw I was just told that Neverwinter Nights is not a massive multiplayer online game in the same sense as PSO and FFXI, so therefore they are not providing you with a server, hence no server fees....
