When I got my PC my CPU's max speed was 2.8 ghz. Since then I have had to reinstall Windows a few times and everytime I did this my CPU's max speed decreased. First to around 2.5 ghz, then about 1.5 and its currently levelled off at 1.25 ghz. I was wondering if any of you guys know why this happened and/or how to fix it because it's really annoying me lol.

Could be cooling problems. Find your chips operating temperatures and use a tool to monitor it.

I found out that I had my FSB set too low so I changed it. Thanks for the help <bleeding_heart>, very much appreciated
